Omahan, I forget more about economics everyday then you will ever learn. I know this cause they don't cover economics in trade school. With that said, I know you just gobble up everything your liberal mayor and liberal radio show hosts feeds you. If you want to branch out and study a little bit for yourself and come back with an argument other then "uh I like the College World Series so we should do anything and everything to keep it" I will listen. Until then, go back to your dive bar and brag to you minimum wage earning buddies about how you laid into some loser on a sports forum.
More of the same that I've dealt with since this board's inception. Nothing new.

Being "informed" is really what takes our opinions in different directions IMO.
I think you and the Seahawks of the world must get off that barstool and quit listening to people like Rush Limbaugh.
People who sit in a box and judge the world but have no effect on it through their own contributions bring nothing to the table in my eyes. I'm not personally judging you Bugeater because I don't know you.
What I am suggesting is that if you want answers then ask the questions to the mayors hotline that I posted or lead a rally at the City Offices demanding more information regarding this endeavor.
While you might get arrested you also might get some more information.
Until then, I will always opt to listen to those (like mayor fahey) that had the gonads to step up and be counted. Not those that judge from afar but do nothing to exact change personally.
FYI, I knew of a situation in a large city where the police chief was under scrutiny because of high crimes rates. His solution?
He made a public announcement stating that if you are a citizen that complains and blames but does nothing, then you have no voice. If you contribute by calling police and showing up in court or doing citizen patrols then you have a voice. It was and is that simple.
Get proactive.
What I am suggesting is that I am "informed" enough to know that if I am passionate about an issue, I have resources or channels to have a voice.
By spewing here, it's all well and good but in essence, you have no voice except the angry echo of deceit that lingers within.
Make sense? Probably not.
As far as the jobs, I'm glad that you and I have one.
You must have read my stuff and forgot you had.

I have already. Check out my post in this thread at 03/21/2008 12:17 PM. I stated I was against the city making an investment with negative return on their investment. Why is it you want the new stadium? I've read through this entire 14 page thread and have yet to find a solid reason why. Can I assume your response will be the same at a 6 year old child? "just because"?!
