We should do this on occasion. I reviewed a podcast earlier this year that was lol-arious in some respects at how Matt dealt with callers on the ball park issue. Crit has pointed one out that top that podcast.
So, without further adieu, let's trash this podcast...I am still listening and making some notes. |

First off, typical Matt...paint them as a bunch of loons and Fahey haters...ironically, Matt is doing exactly what he accuses them of doing. Over-reacting based on emotion.
I agree with Travis, fact is they ran on a "non-issue"...not that there wasn't one, but that they were largely disorganized with no funding. Are they loons? Probably to some degree, but Travis had the more sensible breakdown on that aspect.
Then, in comes the hilarity...I agree with Trav, again. Most press I read as an outsider to Omaha was largely positive on the stadium issue, or at worst neutral FROM DAY ONE...other than a few independent bloggers that I don't consider "media".
So, Matt goes on about the Omaha paper...after Trav silences him on that then he's like "well, you can talk about print media, but talk radio and TV were very much against it" (paraphrased). Using the local stations running clips from local rednecks ranting about the Mayor as support of his claim...which, imo, supports the pro-stadium crowd, not vice versa.

You do kick people head in that you disagree with...I'll give you that. Rather than discussing logically, you piss pound them on the air and run them off when they start owning you logically, Matt.
Now all of the sudden he acts as if this "vocal minority" was a threat that he saved Omaha from...
And if he hadn't BOLDLY stepped forward this previously "vocal minority" would of amassed support to burn down OMAHA!

Trav is DEAD ON, Matt...ironically similar to his pal Dman...were for this from the beginning STRICTLY on an emotional basis.
Trav completely owned him on the whole MECCA (or however it's abbreviated)/Omaha City control factor too...
And, ultimately, Trav is completely right about how the tone was changed...it was changed by things becoming public and there being more transparency, not because Matt put on his cape and Superman underwear.
On a classic ending note...Matt starts off mocking 8000 signatures of the "vocal minority" then tries to paint 2000 internet signatures and some sort of overwhelming support from the "silent majority"...
If you haven't listened to this...it's CLASSIC Perrault idiocy and unwillingness to back down. |

It was hilarious, and what I find funny is that he thinks he's the ONLY guy in Omaha media who was in favor of this.
I listen to Tom Becka on the way home from work most of the time, and any time the stadium was discussed I don't think he ever said anything against it, although he did question the financing aspect of it (and rightly so).
And when you get down to it, it's only natural that the talking bobbleheads on TV would focus their attention on the vocal minority, because it's much better TV to have a bunch of myopic blowhards shouting and threatening than interviewing somebody who is already on board with the idea and doesn't really have any need to jump up and down about it. It's not good journalism per se, because both sides of the story should be presented and the broadcast media spent far too much time and effort on the vocal minority.
The funny thing about it is the fact that Travis Justice, who isn't exactly the most stable individual when it comes to using reason to get a point across, is the one bringing the loudmouth Perrault back down to earth. Perrault is practically peeing himself trying to get every second of airtime he possibly can, and Travis actually has to demand that Perrault let him finish his point without interrupting.
If Journal Broadcasting's higher-ups aren't listening to this objectively and coming to the conclusion that they've got a complete worthless nutjob as their afternoon host on Baggy Shorts 590, then those dolts need to get out of the business and find a job that better suits their level of intelligence -- like working the kitchen weekends at Denny's. |

I know I was listening some that day, but I jump between them and the four-digit station depending on what the topics are so I may have missed this. I'll have to download that later today and give it a listen.
BTW, do you hear commercials on those? That one that Matt does for trivia night at Hooters is brutal, he keep repeating himself on it. "It's really a lot of fun, you need to come out because, it's a lot of fun". His Hardee's commercials he used to do were terrible too. I can't believe anyone would hire him for that. |

That's the beauty of Justice being added...Matt can't hang up on him like he does any logical caller that starts owning him.
So what does Matt do? Get worked up, get loud and try to talk over him....while CONSTANTLY backpedaling away from Justice's points, that really are pretty good, reasonable points.

I thought Dumbass Dwight was taking a permanent leave of absence from the board. Evidently, the dry heaves and cold sweats he was getting from the withdrawl of not having his worthless azz handed to him time after time on this board became more than he could bear.
What's funny is that I could walk into the studio at Baggy Shorts 590 and pretty much know exactly what's what and what to do to get everything up and running. Dumbass Dwight, on the other hand, would have trouble starting the coffee maker in the break room, let alone know how to power up an antenna for over-the-air broadcasting or knowing which channel on the board goes to the microphone or some other audio source. And we won't even go into what it takes to line up interviews, research topics for discussion and have a clear, intelligent thought that could be put out over the airwaves.
Dwight, it's best that you stick to two things...the pathetic minimum-wage job you are now employed at (heard you're doing a bang-up job pushing brooms after events at the Qwest Center...keep up the good work, champ), and staying far away from any computer that has an internet connection.
If you and Perrault were ever engaged in a battle of wits, I'm pretty confident that it would end up in a scoreless tie. |

In your world, I am sure that's substance. I reality, it's not.

The fact is, you're hurt and you've taken an extra measure of effort to come back after pouting and promising to go away , which we all knew would never last because you've pouted and ran away from the boards numerous times. Just like you've come back posting as some relative or former friend defending yourself here many times.
You are as predictable as simple rodent. Ironically, much of your behavior here on the boards (which isn't largely subjective, it's something I can speak 100% factually about unlike your constant implications of peoples real life surroundings) reflects on you like a rodent.
