16-3 over a patsy. The Ole' Excuse Train is chugging towards Iowa City in the near future if the Hawkeyes kick out another performance like this one.

They won. More than I can say for Meechigan and Midge.

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

You forgot to mention they also covered the spread! Whether they won by 1 or 100 the record books will merely call it a win.

DimWit, er I mean Dman,

Looking down schedule row I predict Nerdraska jumping on the "Ol Excuse Train" before the Hawkeyes.

well well well...

I dont expect great things for the Hawks this year... the young o line the sophomore QB the depeleted recieving corps... a jan bowl appearance and 10 wins at season end would be the high end of optimism from my perspective... in recent history Wisconsin and Penn St. are two teams that Iowa has owned, but road games to both this year are likely to end up in the L column. and although this is gonna be somewhat of a rebounding season compared to the dismal end to last year, there are plenty of other stumbling blocks along the way... my prediction is 8-4 prior to bowl season. the Defense will keep them in most games this year, but the offense is really going to have to make great strides by mid season to better an 8-4 mark...

We'll still end up better than Iowa.

I think God was punishing you for lying so much last week.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Then again, it (Iowa's schedule) is one of the weaker NCAA schedules in a BCS conference.

Iowa's schedule is pretty weak. They didn't even schedule Appalachian State.

Two (2) words - Lloyd Carr - Need I see more - With Lloyd it's not money in the bank until the season is over!

Me thinks Lloyd is in the hot seat yet for another year!

Why are you preaching to me about Llyod Carr? I haven't been pro-Carr for quite some time...

Only time will tell Midge. But Michigan had better shore up that defense or it's gonna be a long year.

I'll give it to you though, Iowa sure didn't set the world on fire on Saturday either.....but a wins a win and in the early games that's worth something.

I think we recruited some thugs last week. Maybe sticks and knives on the fields will give us the edge we need.

None of the above, however I will give you one clue!

Unlike you I am not a stalker!

Nor do I follow my wife around as she changes careers.

I've always wondered are you what they call a "house husband"?

I can't wait for your idiotic reply!

Iowa has a lot riding on a QB that is fairly questionable. To me that is as big, if not bigger, of a question as the o-line and it's typically easier to plug in big guys into the line and teach them than it is to season a QB.

That being said, Ferentz and his staff will really be extremely motivated after taking the heat for a disappointing season in '06. This is good news for the Hawks. Not playing Michigan or Ohio St. isn't such great news as it may seem. Iowa will potentially have a fairly weak SOS depending on how Penn St., Wisconsin and other B10 teams shape up and if Iowa somehow pulls off a 1 or 2 loss season you can fully expect them to get no respect in the BCS.

However, I project Iowa will lose 4 or 5 games. They've struggled on the road and despite the revamped coaching efforts I don't see that changing and I think this will be a difficult season defending their home turf with a seemingly weak offense.

I just wanted to bump this for my pal, Crit.

DMan,

Iowa is not very good this year, Notre Dame is terrible but your team just played and won today to avoid finishing last in the Big 12 North. Do you really have any room to dis another team in another conference?

Get a clue!

Well, it is all in ones perspective and interpretation of the way things lay out. In my mind, I have bragging rights that would echo accross Iowa that Nebraska would beat Iowa and did beat Iowa State. And I find it funny that because of two upset victories, you and Bugs already have Nebraska finishing near the bottom of the Big 12 North. Hold the fort guys! Let the boys play a bit before you cast conclusions. NU hasn't played their best football and the season isn't even halfway over. Let 'em play and just drink your beers and put some tape over your mouth for now.

Iowa State's lone win versus 3 losses came against who?
