If it was bound to happen it's best it happened now rather than after the season started. Time to get some reps to the 2 deeps. |

From ESPN Ferentz appeared Thursday on ESPN’s College Football Live and addressed questions on Douglas and Bowman for the first time since the sophomore receivers from Detroit were arrested Sunday after allegedly racking up more than $2,000 in charges on stolen credit cards. “Basically, we learned of all this this past weekend, so it’s been a busy week for us, obviously,” Ferentz said. “The charges are serious and there’s a real gap right now between the information the police have provided us and then also what the players have provided. What we’ve done is suspend both players indefinitely and I think the only fair thing to do at this point is let it play out in the courts and we’ll reserve judgment.” Refreshing when most athletic programs allow them to play until it plays out in the courts. Capn K stepped up to the plate on this one! Hopefully other programs take notice! |

WTF are you smoking? No one said anything about Ferentz having control over the basketball program. And what are talking about? It's not like our basketball players are walking around raping people every other week and slapping wrists for punishments. Oh, yeah, there's the connection for you sherlock...that's why the Iowa basketball program should learn from Ferentz. |

Simpleone, The basketball team has a new head coach and at this time no problems exist. WTF are you spouting off about? Or as usual are you just posting to hear yourself talk? |

KF did nothing about it that did not follow policy. If it were not UI policy to suspend them, he would not have done it. |

Policy or not, then I applaud the University for stepping up to the plate on issues such as this. The Hawkeyes faced a series of off-field transgressions in 2002, including the preseason dismissal of starting cornerback Benny Sapp. Ferentz said Bowman and Douglas spent much of this week in Iowa City before going home to Michigan. He said he expects both players to return to Iowa City for the start of first-semester classes Monday. Meanwhile, their status with the team remains in limbo until the legal situation is settled. They are scheduled for preliminary hearings Sept. 6. "I think every parent wants to believe his son, obviously, and I feel that way about our players right now; I have no reason not to," Ferentz said. "But at the same time, I realize charges like this aren't just pulled out of mid-air. "Outside of the fact we know it's serious, we're going to be supportive, and we'll let the process play out, and then we'll deal with it at the appropriate time. It's really speculative right now to say how we're going to handle things." Well said Coach, well said. |

Cmon Dman, Arbitrator is new to the board, he didn't realize anything beyond a comic book is tough for you to comprehend! Once he gets the hang of it, I am sure he will dumb it down for you and some others. |

That wouldn't leave much for most college football fans to talk about around Omaha would it? Especially after the beating by USC, Husker Nation will be pretty silent (with the exception of the "Ol Excuse Train". |

Derrrr... Last time I checked Fisher wasn't at Michigan either, numbnuts. By your logic, with a new coach at Michigan, you don't have merit to your idiocy. Seriously, too easy... |

Dman, It always took 2 of you to handle one of me, with that said, I anticipated your year of sadness being a Husker fan. The first week of September has for the most part been the highlight of your season. Be happy you're still undefeated! |

Woo - Woo it's almost time Dman! You'll be the first to jump on board as you have more excuses than Jim Rose and Kent put together. |
