At this point in the season, my biggest disappointment is Southern Illinois, and my major surprise is Drake with Illinois State a close second! Hats off to Keno Davis at this juncture of the season. |

Tuesday nights game at the Qwest is Creightons chance to stop that steamroller called Bulldog Basketball. I like Creighton at home in this one however in the event Drake wins it can be regarded as a "statement win" as to who the team to beat in the Valley is. |

As always I went to the game tonight and Drake and Creighton both played lights out, I fail to see Matts crying after the game. My opinion is that Drake came into a very, very tough venue to play and won the game. They came to our house and beat us, plain and simple. The coaching at Drake this year without question is the best in the Mo Valley. I will not resort to whining, we had a very, very good team come to town and we got beat, lets respect that and move on. Creighton is above making excuses despite what the local media is doing. |

| i kinda thought both creighton and drake shot the ball like the "lights were out". is there a new mo valley rule which states a team shall be credited with 4 points for shooting the ball from 8ft beyond the three point line? if that is what passes for good basketball i have to say women's college basketball is on par with the missouri valley teams. |

I am not a Creighton fan but still laughed when the younger Korver boys exchanged long three's in the game.
That was good basketball, yes. Have you not watched much college hoops this season?
All these teams today have guys that chuck it from the third row. |

Is it really that hard to consider Valley Teams worthy of being in the top 25? |

Typical Perrault whining. Why would an "outsider" coming in to Omaha who claimed at length no to be a Jays fan, that the jacket he wore to the baseball game was just a gift, and that constantly homers pro-Jay/anti-Husker basketball garbage have trouble acknowledging that Drake is #16? Easy, because he's become a Jays homer. Which is fine, just be honest about it. |

| of course matt is a total jays homer. that much is obvious. however, he is right about a feeling of disbelief about drake being ranked in the top 20. a first year coach, tradition of below mediocre basketball teams, the departure of key players and reliance on unheralded players make drake a surprise team. have they been playing very good competition? no, not really, and that contributes to their gaudy record. is drake the 16th best team in the country? no. will a creighton win allow matt to talk up creighton's big (and EXTREMELY RARE) road win over a ranked team? you bet. the valley just isn't very good and if creighton can add one more win over a ranked team to their meager resume over the last 15 seasons that will be a huge rallying point for jay supporters, as disillusioned as they may be. |

Well, their one loss was to St. Mary's of California and I do not know how their season has been going. They did defeat both Iowa & Iowa State so at very least they are the best team in the state of Iowa for sure.
And even though the MVC is weaker than normal this season, they are the best in the conference thus far. Their tallest player is only 6'8 so I'm sure stiffer competition with a solid big man would dessimate them in the middle.
Korver is a leader and shooter like his older brother was and his younger brother will be.
I don't see Drake making much noise in the big dance unless they get a undeserved high seed and sneak in the back door.
3 of the 4 coaches on staff at Drake for Men's Basketball have the last name of Davis and yet none are related.
Hmmm... |

No doubt there is disbelief and rightfully so...I am just saying his closet Jay homerism adds to it. As far as competition, though...last I checked they had a 8th ranked RPI. So, they're not playing the weakest side of the schedule even if they haven't run into the Duke's or NC's of the world. Tonight will be another good test. Rivals at home are still rivals...those are tough games. |

drake's RPI of 8 doesn't mean much at this point in the season and it doesn't reflect their schedule quality. aside from the crazy talented mo valley they have played... wisc-milwaukee 12-8 duquesne 13-5 nc central 1-23 iowa state 13-8 iowa 10-11 chicago state 8-15 texas pan-am 14-10 st marys 17-3 |

I didn't say it said much. They could win out and it wouldn't say a lot because of their schedule. However, the point I did make which is that they aren't playing necessarily a weaker end schedule seems true. |
