"I didn't feel any sense of entitlement to that job," said Pelini, who spent a year as an assistant at Oklahoma before moving on to the LSU job in 2005. "I don't completely agree with how it was handled, but that's not for me to say. "It's only the right job if it's a mutual thing, if both sides see it as the right fit. That obviously wasn't the case at Nebraska." But what if the Cornhuskers had offered Pelini the job? At 36 and with only one year of college experience on his resume, was he ready to become a head coach? "Oh yeah, I was ready," said Pelini, tilting back in his office chair and propping his feet up on his desk. "But I'm even more ready now." |

| Pelini is going to be a highly sought after guy at the end of this year. My guess is that he remains with LSU, but this time, as the head coach. |

Maybe...I'd be happy with Miles, but I could see them handing it to English or something. Also, if Nebraska were to swoop in and grab Pelini it could make it difficult for anyone to pull away Miles. |

I'll say it now. If Pelini is hired as head coach and Rimington is the ongoing AD....
I just might become a fan. I actually like both those guys and would support them running the show in Lincoln.
However - if TO is the ongoing AD, I'm still an anti-'sker. |

Pretty soon, you'll have a successful season no matter who is playing if you keep adding to "your team" list.
I had no idea you were a Nebraskan? But if "here" means you live in Nebraska, my apologies. Since you seem to badmouth Omaha and Nebraska all the time, I figured you lived across the river. And if you do live across the river in Iowa, then "here" was the non truthful part of your post. |

Here "meaning" being a part of that program. I would never claim to be from Nerdraska, good "catch" |

| If NU doesn't approach him (and even if it does), I could see him taking the jobs at Arkansas or Texas A&M pretty easily. |

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin |

Going on record on a message board...now that's original material - better get your publisher in the loop! |

...And who are you again? That's right - you're Dwight the Delusional Man. You know all about 'going on the record' on message boards because that's all you have in your sad, pathetic existence. I have a theory about Dman. He's really a character created by members of the current SNL cast as part of a developing, ongoing skit where they make fun of message boards such as this one. My theory is backed up by 'Dwight' changing his posting style every couple of days. His ability to see reality (well, reality as the rest of the board sees it) varies greatly depending on who is in charge of 'Dwight' for the day. I visualize, in moments of clarity, 'Dwight' is actually someone like Amy Poehler. When 'he' goes off on one of 'his' tangents, it is someone like Will Forte or Fred Armisen trying really hard to be what they think a stereotypical 'sker freak should be. Someone not from around this area, but still has strong 'ties to the program' is a closet homosexual and brags about his $$ while flexing his internet muscles. (All good for a late night laugh IMO.) I fully expect to see a TV Funhouse short about 'sker fan and this board sometime soon making fun of all of us and how we thought 'Dwight' was a real person. |
