The Tigers had a few thoughts on Kevin Cosgrove's defensive game plan against them.

http://www.showmenews.com/2007/Oct/20071009Spor005.asp

From the story...
" "I was a little bit surprised that they went just about the entire game getting pressure on us with a three-man rush," Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen said. "Obviously, it didn’t work very well. I don’t foresee Oklahoma doing that or at least making a living doing that."

Daniel was less subtle in his reaction to Nebraska’s game plan.

"They’re very stubborn," Daniel said. "Cosgrove’s a very stubborn guy. It’s always been that way. … That’s just how he is, that’s how they are. They’re a bunch of confident guys in what they do, and they felt they had the best chance doing that, so they stuck with it."

"You can’t just play one defense the whole entire game," Daniel added. "That’s like high school stuff that I faced in high school, so it’s nothing new for me."

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Too bad for Nebraska that Cos is going nowhere after this year.

I think if they'd have dropped their nose tackle back into coverage and just rushed two guys, they'd have had that game.

I'll bet THAT scheme will be put on a laminated forearm sheet and strapped to Coz's bicep this week.

i read in the wierd harold this morning where one of the defensive players said something to the effect "we couldn't change our scheme halfway through the game, that's all we practiced all week long." so they haven't used any defensive schemes other than that previously in the season? coz and beau have dumbed these players down to their level. that was even more stupid than one of dman's posts. after reading that i'm even more sure about osu beating them in lincoln on saturday.

how scary is it sker fan that coz's scheme is no better than that of a texas high school d coordinator? i know they take their high school football in texas VERY seriously, but come on, shouldn't coz be a few notches higher on the food chain? apparently he's not.
