| what i read in the wierd harold today makes me that much more confident in my pick. the players have bought in to one callahan philosophy. "we're not smart enough to make any changes during the game and have to stick with the game plan we practiced all week no matter how bad it is failing" when it's all said and done beau will be right up there with rockne. |

I have a feeling Nebraska actually pulls this one out. Oklahoma State isn't a very good team, especially on the road. They're undisciplined, with a horrific defense, and in my opinion, poorly coached. (Sounds like Nebraska a bit). In Stillwater, I say the Cowboys would win, but in Lincoln, OSU's road woes prevail, and NU should have enough. Nebraska 38 Ok. State 30 But even I, the poster boy for 1-800-BETSOFF (apparently??), wouldn't touch this game. |

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up! |

| i wouldn't lay money on this one either. both teams are so damn schizoid. whichever team self destructs the least will come out ahead. i still tend to lean toward osu. their overall stats are better, nebraska has too many problems against that style of offense and coz has proven beyond a doubt he can't handle it. plus i think osu is due for a road win. |

| Yeah, the only certain thing about this game is that it's relatively uncertain. Nothing will really surprise me whatever the outcome. |

They may be poorly coached, but I'll bet the OSU players have significantly more respect for their coaches than NU players do,at this juncture, for theirs. Mizzu's defense sucked too. Remember? They sucked so bad, the West Coast boys popped 'em for 2 FG's. But this game is a toss up IMO. |

the observation i'm making is that those of you that are sker fans seem to be less confident about this game than the mizzou and even usc game. i'm just curious as to why? a few of you have picked the skers, the majority of us have picked osu but eveyone seems to be of the consensus that this game is a coin toss. is it lack of faith in nebraska's defense or osu's road performances that are guiding your decisions? neither team seems to be too horrendous in the tournover department, skers -.5 pokes -1.0. both teams have the same amount of offensive turnovers at 13, the skers have the advantage in the take away department.
i guess the main reason i'm leaning towards the pokes is of the games i've seen of theirs they just seemed to be more fundamentally sound than the skers. they seem to have more confidence, not only the players but the coaching staff as well. |

Is that the same 97 team that keeps bagging on the current program and coaching staff? What kind of Karma do you suppose they're going to bring with them? |

I picked OSU because I think that BC has lost this team. If the Huskers win it will be because OSU is so horrible on the road. The team is in shambles and I have zero confidence that this coaching staff can turn it around. It pains me to say it, but Logan and the rest of the goofballs here were right. BC is a fraud. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as long as I could, but the Mizzu disaster made it clear to me that BC, Coz and a few other assistants are clueless about winning college football games. I hope that I'm wrong, but I really can't see things going any other way based on what I've seen over the last few years. |

My winning Huge Email:
Rome:
For the love of all that is holy, Bugeater Nation needs some help.
Tomorrow is homecoming for the Huskers. We will have the 1997 Championship team in the house. I am wondering if there is any chance the Blackshirts of old can sneak into the locker room, pimp slap the current squad, steal their uni's, and show them how it is done.
If we do not beat Oklahomo State on homecoming with the 1997 team in attendance, the Beau Bridges experiment must come to an end. This man has single handedly set so many records at UNL he will be listed as a contributing editor to the record book. A quick check reveals that he gave Husker Nation:
a) Its first losing season since the Kennedy administration. b) a 70-10 beatdown at Texas Tech.....worst loss ever c) a defense that gave up 1.3 miles on defense in the last four games...... d) The Worst Defense Ever.....ever Jim.....records do not go back past the great depression, but we will assume ever.
Please continue to mention how much we suck. Please bring up the travesty that Beau is hosting upon Husker Nation at least once per day on your show. And please hope, like many of the faithful do, that Beau gets the call to head back to the majors soon and we are allowed to rectify our mistake and get Bo Pelini roaming a Husker sideline soon.
