Ok, since I don't have time today to read through everything over the weekend, here are some comments...

Michigan, told you they wouldn't cover that ridiculous spread of 33 or whatever it was. Carr still needs to go.

Notre Dame, grats, I thought this might be an upset potential game, but wow...very impressed. They actually looked better than the 5th and 6th graders I used to work with.

Grats, Logan.

Nebraska...those of you that saw me post, and argued with me last week, told you so.

Dman, it's time to start being concerned and the anti-Callahan movement is getting more legitimacy each week.

Iowa, ouch...but I am not really surprised. I wasn't up on Iowa at the start of the season. I predicted 4 or 5 losses. At this rate, 4 or 5 wins will be fortunate. Rough season, but this will build character for next season. You're a young team.

USC...ROFL.

I predicted 2 regular season losses for them this year, which I was a bit nervous about, but giving it up to Standford? Cal and Oregon are drooling...

How could Stanford beat USC? On USC's home field no less?
Stanford doesn't have three years in a row of Top 10 recruiting classes. Jim Harbaugh hasn't had time to get the culture changed. The players haven't had enough time to adjust to the new coaching staff there.
They can't beat a Top 10 team like that with all that working against them.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

While I'll still cheer as passionately as ever, it appears for all intents and purposes that Nebraska won't matter much this year. I see a 3-3 finish...and that may be reaching.

So, now I'm cheering for chaos in college football. We've talked about this some before, but I would love for there to be twelve 1-loss teams all bickering about their right to be in the BCS.

Better yet, what if South Florida and Hawaii end up as the only undefeateds? Nobody wants to see that national championship bowl game. When ratings, and ad sales, are impacted -- that's when change will happen. The system must be shaken.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Yeah, I was telling a buddy of mine I think Nebraska will finish out 2-4 if they don't turn things around. I think they'll likely lose their road games and trip up once at home. The sad part is I think they've got the talent to win out...I am just not sure the coaching is going to be there.

I have mixed feelings about the BCS...assuming we went to a playoff system I think best case scenario would be an 8 team playoff and I am not sure that would be enough spots to fully satisfy the controversy. I guess it'd be better than what we have...but, if I were to bet a year salary on it, I'd bet we won't see a playoff system anytime soon.
