What f*cking fun do Husker fans get from going to BRB? Everybody just drools over everybody elses comments. I suppose it's good for those with low self esteem maybe.

I love it when someone shakes it up abit in there. Comedy Gold!

That board seems to operate by certain rules.
Bashing, heck, even questioning the current coaching staff is trolling, unallowable trolling.
Bashing and questioning previous coaches, players and anybody who questions the current coaching staff is perfectly acceptable.
Then pat yourself on the back and lovingly whisper congratulatory thoughts to each other on what great fans you are.
Defending Callahan is one thing. The lock-step, groupthink shoutdown of anybody who doesn't is another.
If the Huskers do go into the tank from here, things could get really entertaining there.
I wonder what the deal is with all the rage, though. Perhaps they've been getting too many shipments from BALCO over there.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Was it the same policy there when Frankie was the coach, or is this just a new thing with the Calli era?

I believe that the board started post-Frankie, basically over disgust with criticism of Callahan/Pederson, etc. on the board where the BRB founder used to be regulars.

It appears that Huskerpedia allows for free speech of its registered members.

Yep, it was after the 2004 season. The place is basically a mouthpiece for the athletic dept now.

I saw in one thread where Trainwreck was asking for up to $20 per member to keep the board "alive". That might be more challenging now than ever. Can't speak your mind. All glory be to Stevie P. and Billy C. All hale to the program.

The board has all the makings of a cult. Taking money from innocent, sheeple huskers who are not allowed to have a rational thought about how things are going in Lincoln. I'd say an intervention is in order.

Then why bother looking and posting links to it? They are clear about their policies.

Not trying to start a fight here, I just don't understand the rationale of going to someone else's board and f*cking with them.

I don't understand the rationale of having a board that people can't voice their opinions on...if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

And it's not like I can see an obvious disclaimer about board rules...the terms of use when you click on the 'register' button don't say jack about needing to be a Husker Homer to participate.

I have no respect or time for boards that operate like that. It's one thing to run off idiots. It's another thing to gestopo users for voicing dissatisfaction with the program if that's what they are doing.

Although, from the threads I see linked...those looked more like trolls than honest users.

I do not completely disagree. However, if you register to a board, take time to read a few posts or the FAQ or something. I almost always lurk for a day or two on any board I am thinking about posting to. Gives me a sense of the expectations. I probably might not have posted here had it not been for the Douchetastic post by d-man regarding Purify's girlfriend.

And people who get run from that board are--more often then not--people who have a post count lower than their shoe size and who's first post is a demand that we fire someone or that someone sucks, etc.

I post there somewhat regularly and my posts are not always puppy kisses, unicorns, and rainbows.

I've co-administered a board with 10k+ registered users. Our rules were posted in multiple places and were obvious to find...where are the FAQ's there and the rules anyway?

No one should have to lurk to find out the nature of the admin. on a given board especially if it's of any substantial size in users.

If people are getting ran with low post counts and blatent idiocy that's one thing. If people questioning Nebraska are getting run and they are asking from a legitimately concerned point of view, even if someone confrontational, then that's just ridiculous abuse of power and a crappy board.

I don't go and f*ck with them, I'd get banned. I just find it amusing. In a creepy sort of way.
