Generally not impressed?

That's probably her mantra at this point, with you as a husband.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Mantra? I'll bet you looked that one up just before typing it. Too slick for a Former Jesuit current atheist like you.

Mantra might be an impressive word for a guy who spells "rediculous" the way you do, but pretty ordinary to a much more intelligent person like myself.

What happened to your $75 dinner? Did you already forget you told that lie?

Go save the whales or volunteer at the Humane Soceity son. We play dirty here.

I play dirty with the best of them, but there are lines I won't cross....and that is one of them.

Should I applaud you?

I did not ask for applause. I did not go to the 'we play dirty' to justify making as ass of myself either. I simply pointed out that using some family's tragic circumstances to grind an ax against a college football player makes you a douche bag.

So you're saying because he's an atheist (your words not mine as I've never seen that statement from Vranged) his Jesuit education is now somehow less than it would be if he were a practicing Catholic/Christian? Seems to me that whatever he learned, he learned and his religious beliefs wouldn't have any bearing on the amount of knowledge he has.

(Catholic and Christians are the same thing btw Dwight - key word there is 'Christ'. Catholicism is a segment of Christianity. But you probably knew that, right? :blush

Of course, I'm just a simple guy with my own firm beliefs. I'm more of a Buddhist myself. (I'd be happy to teach you about the middle way sometime - you sound like you'd benefit greatly from it.) However I was raised Catholic and saw the religion for what it was - the largest organized cult in the world. Hypocrisy is rampant in the Catholic church and - based on the sketchy morals you've displayed here - is present in your life as well. Seeking enlightenment is admirable, but doing so in a broken vessel of a religion is not the way to achieve it.

We could continue this discussion - let me know and I'd be happy to start poking holes in your beliefs. (Don't take that as an offer for me to come play 'army buddy' with you either. Any talking we do will be online - no physical interaction with you. I don't have a problem with your way of life, but it isn't mine. Thanks anyway.)

Just to stay on topic, even I want to extend my sympathies to Purify. How dumb does that make Dman look?

I'm more agnostic, with spatterings of atheistic views sometimes shining through, despite years of Catholic school. I consider myself somewhat spiritual, but not directed towards some invisible guy in the sky. What diverted me from the church was the mass hypocrisy. People like Dman, who cling to their faith as a crutch, but do very little to practice what they preach, sicken me. I'd go to mass, and see an army of followers mindlessly reciting memorized words, without paying attention to the meaning behind them. Actions of so many of these people were very rarely consistent with the message, ala Dman. I didn't want to be associated with such delusional (a theme in Dman's life) people.

My favorite hypocrisy, which literally was the straw that broke the camel's back in my life -- in Catholicism, you can't eat meat on Friday's during Lent. Disregarding the fact that it was a rule enacted to help the fishing markets hundreds/thousands of years ago, and not some decree from God -- I always found that rule stupid and pointless.

One year, St. PAtrick's Day -- a day of drunkenness, debauchery and sin -- fell on a Friday. Some churches around the country stated that Catholics could eat meat on that Friday, so they could enjoy corn beef and cabbage. They changed a "sacred rule" so people could eat traditional Irish cuisine while they drank themsleves stupid. That was the end. The religion was officially a joke.

That guy better show up in Columbia ready or get him outta Lincoln. He's not a high character guy in the first place, if he can't suit up, show him the door.

Not cool man.

Everyone calls Dman a dipsh1t, but in his world, he's still assaulting me.

He's a clown. That must suck to be such a joke.

LOL!! That's pretty high on my list of Catholic BS too. My wife (still a practicing Catholic, albeit a very disillusioned one) doesn't understand when I ignore the Lenten rules.

We were at a confirmation meeting for my oldest the other night. (Again, my wife's wishes not mine. I figure the kids will make up their own mind on religion when they're old enough.) The pastor started in on how evil society is and how 'confirmation will protect our child' from the evils they face on a daily basis, blah blah blah. BS. Good parenting and good morals protect my child from society. Taking an active role in their lives protect them. Not the church. (Just ask all those poor altar boys in Boston...)

D is a low-life who buys a winning lottery ticket, only to get hit by a car, losing the ticket in the process. He then realizes in the hospital that his bad luck is the result of karma in which fate punishes him for all the rotten things he's ever done in his life; therefore, he then decides to dedicate his life to making amends to all the people he has hurt in his life. Starting by leaving this board. Lets just call him Earl!

Mo Purify is a loser, he's lucky he has athletic skills or else he'd be in the soup line like the throngs here in Baltimore.

so d do you really want me to email matt and brian and tell them to run you? how soon before you would be back as dwman? how many identities have you had on this board anyway? you even pretended to be your own cousin once. do the number of identities you've had here match the number of schizophrenic identities you have?

Douche Man, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Go Play Intramurals Brother

Quotes from Billy Madison and Hawkins....

"I want to implode my...."

WTF does that even mean? Seriously. Dude, really. Do you randomly select words from a dictionary? There is no contextual connection for that. I mean, every one makes typos, but DAMN. You could not agitate my mind if I gave you YEARS to formulate a response to anything I say or do.
