Posted By egami on 10/02/2007 4:09 PM Posted By DMan on 10/02/2007 4:05 PM i don't hope not, I know! NU is due for a shining performance, something tells me it won't be this coming weekend though. It's week 6. We're at the mid-point of the season. If they haven't shined now, and it's not coming in week 6, then I have to question any 'shining' being done as a luck game. We shined against ND. Doesn't mean we are finally playing up to our potential for the season as the Northwestern game demonstrated. Nebraska is in a troubling situation and it'll take more than a single, solid looking performance before I believe their cause for alarm is no longer legit. And I'll stand by that. One quality game at this point for Nebraska isn't necessarily a sign of things to come...it's too far into the season. This is the point objectively critical Nebraska fans start to question Callahan. And if this continues into next season...this is a really bad sign. |

| It's starting to look that way and I would guess in about 2 - 4 weeks there could be a resurgence in the anti-Callahan movement that may be unprecedented. More fans are going to become agitated if they get anywhere near .500 and so far, the way they've played, I don't see them going much above that in the North. |

If the Skers get anywhere near .500 this year that sh!t will hit the fan like never before in Husker Nation. I don't think that they will, though. Each team on the schedule is about as flawed as the Skers. |

No way he is gone in the next 3 seasons. He could lose out this year and go .500 next year and he'll be back. |

| at this point, after looking at the big 12 web site's statistics this morning, i don't see nebraska finishing better than 6-6. things could change but historically billy and cos have shown tendencies to not adapt or improve as a season goes along. |

Have to disagree with you there. Coz actually had a pretty good defensive gameplan against Texas, Mizzu, Oklahoma, and Auburn late in the season last year. Even if that happens again this year I don't think that he can save his job. |

| where have those plans been this year? he's in the basement in most defensive categories in the conference. mizzou, osu, texas, texas a&m and k-state all looked more impressive, in one facet or another, on offense to me than ball st. did. those teams look better on d too. i haven't seen ku yet and while they haven't played anyone they are putting up real good numbers on both sides of the ball. colorado is yet to be proven but they are showing improvement. i know i post a lot of things just to agitate, because i get a kick out of that. this opinion is base upon what i've seen and the numbers i've looked at. |

I know that the D sucks this year. I was replying to your statement regarding them historically not improving. And NU does have better defensive stats than MU with a tougher schedule. |

mizzou has given up more yards, but the skers have given up more td's and points. as far as strength of schedule goes nebraska has usc and that's it. if pete carroll doesn't call off the dogs how many more td's do the trojans hang on the black shirts? saturday night around 11 it will all be settled. |

Yeah, statistically these guys match up pretty parallel as I said earlier. I think overall Mizzou has the edge statistically, obviously home field advantage and I don't think they've struggled as much against teams they, in theory, shouldn't have to the degree Nebraska has.
I think Mizzou easily covers the spread. |

I'm not going to get into a stupid debate about which of these ugly girls is less ugly at the ugly girl dance. The D stats are closer than I thought. I don't think giving up 1.6 pts/game means anything. As far as schedule goes, Ball St and Wake would beat anyone Mizzu has played except Ill. USC would pound them all. Mizzu has also played a 1AA team. How would their stats look without those numbers? |
