Not gonna happen. Pettite is a stopper. Bombers get it on track tonight and split before heading back to the Bronx. |

Well, the Yanks didn't get swept and there will be no cheering for the Cubs....again.
I suppose at this point their best hope is for Cuban to buy them. |

| if cuban owned them would that have helped soriano and ramirez at the plate? those 2 just didn't show up when they were needed. i do think lou is doing good things and i do think cuban would be the shot in the arm to get them over the goat hump. |

Cuban has done a remarkable job in Dallas. The longstanding problem the Cubs face is their front office...need I remind you, a Cubs fan (assuming you are), of how many bonehead trades and mistakes they've made? Their only curse is in their lack of real direction from the top for too many years.
I think Cuban would be the shot in the arm they need to be a real contender. |

With Cuban's direction, the team would be learning the Tango while he holds an open call interview process for the next "BENEFACTOR" of the Cubie organization.

Rockies winning on Saturday was the one thing that made that day salvageable. I wanted to pump my fist and yell in joy that they pulled it out, but at the same time, the Huskers are getting their backsides kicked. |

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin |
