Reporters who observed the team’s off-season workouts expressed sympathy for Josh Freeman’s plight. “Wow, talk about karma,” said Ron Krieger of KANSUCK 310 AM. “This is so much worse than breaking your foot or tearing a hamstring or something. This guy has to play next year with a bunch of wide receivers nobody’s ever heard of Jordy Nelson Yamon Figurs? Who the hell are these people? Do they have prior experience in the field of wide receiving? One of them actually got a pass wedged into his face mask, and then ran around in circles screaming that he couldn’t see. And that guy was the captain.” One receiver, Jordy Nelson, dropped every pass that was thrown to him during practice, but still remained optimistic that he would learn how to catch in time for the start of the season. “This is kind of like on the job training,” Jordy told reporters afterward. “I didn’t make any catches this week but I definitely made some strides. For instance, I’m much better at running routes now. I’m no longer just running straight down the field into the tunnel. I’m doing hook patterns and slants and curls and everything else. By the time the season starts, I’ll be able to catch the ball too, or my name isn’t Courtney…what is it again? Jordy? Oh well A.I. told me its only practice and not to worry and look how his team is doing in the NBA playoffs!................. While K State has acknowledged their receiving corps is young and experienced, coach Ron Prince has stopped short of calling them bad. “I wouldn’t say we have crappy wide receiving corps,” said Price. “They’re just young, that’s all. Some of them could end up being all-stars some day. Look at that Roydell Williams guy. He set some kind of record at Tulane and I think if I try I could convince his dad that he should come here” after the coach was informed that he (Williams) was in the NFL his next statement was “Who is Nebraska recruiting?.....Not that we need help....Awkward silence end of interview! Well it is safe to say K STATE WILL SUCK AGAIN THIS YEAR!!! |

| I love a good KSU dogpile as much as the next guy, but Prince's offense looked a lot better against Texas than Callahan's did. |

I can’t talk Baseball smack so I might as well take it out on the Bottom feeders of the Big 12 How great his sports world is right now? The Celtics suck and will still suck after drafting that Noah kid from Florida. His Florida Gators just lost their $36MM B-ball coach. His Creighton Bluejays Basketball team is in a disfunctional state what with the coach not sure if he wants to go or stay and then running off all the star players. (Oh yeah, can he be a fan of Florida and Creighton at the same time?)UMass, well, is UMass. The Patriots just acquired the cancer that IS Randy Moss. I'm sure Tom Brady just fathered another bastard child somewhere. The Red Sox have set themselves up for the biggest choak-job in MLB history. Ah, yes, to be Matt Perrault right now would be like the worst hang-over Kevin the Drunk has ever had in his life. BTW, your Yankees not only suck, but they suck exponentially what with the caliber of players they have. Have they ever heard of pitching? And I'm not talking about spending $26MM for 1/2 of a season on 1 "has-been". For that kind of money, they could have acquired 3 or 4 "has-beens" for $26MM. Hell, give Nolan Ryan a call. Or one of the Niekro brothers. Hell, Randy Johnson is having another decent year back with the Diamondbacks. |

The Cardinals are off to their worst start in 17 years. By the way 9 championships is a far cry from my Yankees.
Chicago just lost the Super Bowl and risks falling into the dreaded curse of the Super Bowl loser next season
Lets face it at Iowa successful seasons is going 6-7. |

Are you unwilling to admit that with George's payroll, and the list of athletes (several HOF'ers)on the roster, that being 13 1/2 games out of first place at this juncture is not a huge disappointment for Yankee fans all over the world? That coupled with the fact that they just signed a 40 something pitcher for $26MM for the season? Cmon Tim, at least be realistic. If they were willing to spend that kind of cash on one player for 1/2 a season, don't you think they could have acquired some real pitching talent, ie more than one guy, to help out the ball club? Aren't you pissed as a fan? As for my teams, I'm not the one boasting about their successes or failures for that matter. I take'em one game at a time. Last year's World Champions. This year's Super Bowl Loser. Iowa finishing a tough football season strongly against this year's pre-season No. 2 team. I'll take that.......for now. |

Basketball - All the way with the Creighton Blue Jays. My alma mater Since my Jays do not have football I have followed the Hawkeyes for years. Loyal fans, and IMO one of the greatest football game day experiences in the country, nobody tailgates like they do in Iowa City. MLB - Yankees NFL - Broncos |

I was comparing apples to apples, however I have a very good friend who takes photos for the NFL and generally covers the games in KC, he has accompanied me to Kinnick and has remarked it is very, very reminiscent of Arrowhead regarding the array of motor homes, tent set ups, and number of tailgaters who start the night before. I can only gauge any comparison to Arrowhead (which I wasn't) from what my NFL connected compadre has stated. |

Saw Josh play against NU last year. Looked like a pussy running for his life for most of the game but still threw for 270 yards. He's big, lean and athletic. He'll do just fine in the long run. And I predict that one of these years before he goes on to a higher level, he will erupt on the Big Red and show them who's boss. -DMan |

I must've got lost! And my kool-aid supply either wasn't sweetened enough or simply wasn't available. No, I am just really impressed with Josh. And we all know he would love to stick it to NU, so I wanted to cover that base merely so I could say I saw it coming. |

Tim in Yakima, Thus far, looks like Kansas State is making a mockery of this thread! Another big win today -vs- Kansas will solidify those pass dropping receivers are just a lil better than you thought. The Texas thing might just be one of those "got your number" things though. Juries still out... |
