Yeah I thought is was pretty funny to hear him whine. The lottery was put in place to keep teams from tanking games to ensure a top draft pick, which is what Boston did, and then he complains when it serves its purpose.

Yeah, tell Danny Ainge not to trade away the draft pick that became Brandon Roy to get Sebastian Telfair.
The Celtics got screwed? Riiiiiiight.
They shouldn't get rewarded just because they give an utterly inept personnel guy the power to make bad decision after bad decision.
The only thing stopping Ainge from being the worst former "name" player being in charge is Kevin McHale.
Oh, and, Isaiah Thomas.
And Michael Jordan, can't forget about that guy, the worst of the bunch. Ran the Wizards into the ground and his doing his level best to ruin the NBA in Charlotte for a second time.
The Celtics should still be able to get a quality player at No. 5. I believe that's where Dwayne Wade went, after all.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Is Sam Bowie available? The number 5 position over the years, has done pretty well compared to picks 2-4. Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Dwayne Wade, Vince Carter all went 5th......

To suggest that the Celtics got screwed in a "lottery" is assinine at the very least.

Now if it were the little village in the short story "The Lottery", I'd say the winner Tessie Hutchinson got screwed, but this is the NBA. No stoning until the pick becomes a bust.

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.
