Posted By vranged on 09/16/2007 4:47 AM If you hate Callahan, I'm not going to stop you ------ but he's not the reason Nebraska lost today. I blame him for last year's loss, but not tonight's. USC is WAYYYYYYYY better than Nebraska -- much more than I thought. Heading into the game, I was worried about their speed. That lived up to expectations, as they were all over the field, but what shocked me....and the Huskers....was how physically dominating the Trojans were. They destroyed Nebraksa at the line of scrimmage. They were stronger, smarter, and faster. We're a tier or two behind that team. It's 4:40 AM, and I'm just getting back from Lincoln, so my intoxication might dominate the synposis of the game. BUt I won't make excuses other than -- the better team won. Let's kill Ball State next week, or whoever we play next. As crappy as tonight was for Nebraska, at least we're not Iowa or Notre Dame --- i.e. the laughing stocks of college football. We're just a good team that lost to a great team.
Is that what we're down to now? "Yeah, we suck, but at least we don't suck as bad as (insert team here)." All I've been hearing about for the past 3 years is all of the fire breathing studs that Cally is bringing in. Well, where the **** are they? We're not one effing bit better off than when Solich was the coach. Oh, and **** you too Steve Pedersen. ****ing liar. |

So how does this work? Does Callacan't slip Carroll a fifty after the game as a token for saving him an embaressment? This was well on its way to the worst beatdown since Texas Tech in 04. Thank the Football gods Pete Carroll has class and pulled back on the reins in the 4th. Callacan't wants to model his program after USC & Pete Carroll, after 4 years and his top recruits he is well on his way to being the next Lloydd Carr |

He's turned your recruiting around to a respectable level. He's slowly building you back to a respectable level. He's winning the North again...it's called rebuilding for a reason. You lost to the team that you were in the 90's. Grow a pair and stop crying. |

Dukester thinks a loss to the #1 team in the nation -- and one of the greatest teams of all time (according to the "experts") -- worse than a loss to one of the worst teams in Division I. Seriously, bud -- you don't know jack sh1t about sports. You embarrass yourself. |

A.P. - In the tiny bedroom town of Webster, Iowa the disaster relief team was still busy Monday morning after a Cyclone that damaged much of Jack Trice Stadium and several small communities outside of the Ames city limits, devastated the town folk of this bedroom farming community. One traveler attempting to run from the storm reported the screams of some Hawkeyes as they were swept out of the still air and into the circular wind storm that was the most devastating storms in years. One onlooker reported hearing "Help! Help! There is no excuse for what is happening? Help! Help! This is Iowa State not Nebraska, how can we lose this game!" The American Red Cross and other organizations are on the scene rendering aid to any Hawkeyes. Several birds were saved and many transfered to Iowa State stating "Chizek rules, Ferentz fools!" |

Ever see those glass canning jars that say Ball on them? That was the founding company behind Ball State. A little college in Nowhere (Muncie), Indiana. Learned that when I visited there for the first time last summer. Nice campus. |

| I think people forget that USC has a fire-breathing stud on the bench for every one their opponent has on the field...and then maybe some depending on the team. |

I mean USC letting off the gas in the fourth allowed the Huskers to save a little bit of face in the final score. But after all the we're back and bring on USC smack running after the Huskers rolled Nevada this game was the ultimate proof that Nebraska is not even close to being in that same catagory as a USC or LSU or Florida or Oklahoma. Huskers *might* be a top 25 team, definitely not top 10. Nebraska is still better than Iowa. Point blank...USC is #1 in the Nation. Iowa State was winless and relied on field goals. Iowa is hapless this season. Nebraska will still beat some good teams and finish the year with a smile. Iowa's schedule was favorable to winning this season and they have thus far showed nothing. Oh wait a minute...I almost forgot about the domination of Syracuse. lol! DimWitMan, Both teams are 2 - 1 and one of those teams (Iowa) was not embarrassed on National TV. Buy a brain, you need it! Yes, both NU and IU are 2-1. NU has beaten a Wake Forest team on the road that's only other loss was to unbeaten Boston College and was last seasons ACC Champs. Nebraska lost to USC. (nothing else needs to be said) Iowa lost to Iowa State whom was winless proir to that game. In the immortal words of Mettalica: And http://www.cyclones.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&KEY=&SPID=4653&SPSID=48393nothing else matters.... besides you are a fool that is blind. You stated "(Iowa) was not embarrassed on national tv." OMFG!!! Two words for your response: IOWA Freakin' STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Bull. Shit. Did you see Sports Sound Off last night? Rob Zatechka tore them apart. Said USC wasn't necessarily that much bigger stronger and faster, they just were far better prepared and executed better. It's not like Callahan is going anywhere anyway, but Coz sure as hell should get the axe. That was ****ing pitiful. And to top it all off, now Pedey wants me to pay $29.95 to watch more of this crap on Saturday. **** you Pedey, I'll keep my money this time. |

He can put his crack pipe down. This USC team is what NU used to be. They have depth on depth and NU was physically outmatched. To boil it down to play calling being the difference is pure intellectual dishonesty. No, I don't believe USC will win it all this year, but they unquestionably better than Nebraska. They aren't worth paying a lot to see yet, no. Not sure Callahan will get them there, but it's intellectually dishonest to call for his dismissal over the USC loss. |

USC dominated the line of scrimmage. They created holes that a school bus could have driven through. So, with all due respect to Zatechka, according to what I saw on the field, they were that much bigger and stronger.
Nebraska is a good football team. USC is one of the best ever. Callahan is a good coach. USC has one of the best. When good meets exceptional, exceptional wins -- in this case, by a lot. |

| I haven't called for Callahan's dismissal anywhere in this thread. I don't know where you're getting that from. Coz's, yes. All I'm doing is calling him as I see him, and he's an effing fraud. He's going to (unfortunately) get plenty of time to prove me wrong thanks to the no buyout clause Pedey gave him. Welcome to the Pedeyocrity era Husker Fans! |
