A candid observation here, it appears your hate for anything Iowa overshadows common sense. Iowa is 3 - 3 with those 3 loses coming by a total of 9 points against what appear to be 3 good to very good teams. The Iowa defense appears to be stifling. The offense has one of if not the best running back in the country and they appear to have growing pains with a sophomore quarterback who is obviously a raw talent in the making. A member of our firm is an Iowa grad and a group of us went over to Iowa City last week to the homecoming game, truly one of the greatest atmospheres in college football. The Northwestern game was a very winnable, the Pitt game was a one point loss which was a very winnable game and todays game was very winnable. Youth and inexperience has led to breakdowns and mistakes including 8 turnovers in the last 2 games. My opinion is that once this team gets on track which they will at some point this season then they will be a very, very competitive team. If this happens starting next week, they could still get seven wins. My friend also tells me Ferentz job is not in jeopardy this year. My unbiased impression is that the Hawkeyes are a good team but they must stop shooting themselves in the foot. Go Jays!!!!! |

Here's the deal Hack, nobody here gives a rats ass whether you are a lawyer or a flunkie runner for a firm like Vranged. Just the fact that you back Dukester speaks volumes of you. Iowa is a stupid team, period. They have a decent running back and a terrible quarterback and a desperate coach. Fact. Who the freak cares what you "insiders" say about Ferentz's job security. Stay in the now buddy, right now Iowa sucks and is a lackluster, sloppy and "shoot myself in the foot" type of squad. Tell your friend to go to hell. |

If you're that "thin skinned" you should stay away from message boards. Hacks comments were observations he wasn't taking sides or backing anyone up. It appears to me he was just citing the facts. So as to remain crystal clear for the record I am backing CHA on this one, I have known him from our days at Creighton going back many moons ago. You picked the wrong person to fling crap at, however knowing his forgiving attitude he will not respond by tearing you a new one. Grow up. |

That's not relevant Dukester, and was outside the scope of the original take, your offer of this poor and tired take is not sustained. |

Looks like the bobsey twins DMan (Dumb) and Russell(Dumber) got up early as usual to post this morning. Wow, where do I start? Nebraska sucks that's for sure. The coaching sucks and the program is sucky. Need I say more!!! I hope Texas Tech lays 80 on their pathetic asses next week. Nothing has improved, it is now obvious why Bo Pelini didn't get a head coaching job anywhere else. ahahahahahha I can't wait!!! |

Two Iowans were looking at a Victoria Secrets catalog and admiring the models.
One says to the other, 'Have you seen the beautiful girls in this catalog?'
The second one replies, 'Yes, they are very beautiful. And look at the price!'
The first one says, with wide eyes, 'Wow, they aren't very expensive. At this price, I'm buying one.'
The second one smiles and pats him on the back. 'Good idea! Order one and if she's as beautiful as she is in the catalog, I will get one too.'
Three weeks later, the youngest Iowan asks his friend, 'Did you ever receive the girl you ordered from the Victoria Secrets catalog?'
The second Iowan replies, 'No, but it shouldn't be long now. I got her clothes yesterday!'

And yet that defense of NU has to go into Ames and play the game. I'm so looking forward to that game. |

BS590Admin clearly has issues. I don't think he's contributed anything of substance to the board since he's been here, so frankly I am not sure why anyone would waste time communicating to him in any other manner than basic message board banter. CHA, I do think you've left one critical aspect out of your take on Iowa, and that is coaching...the coaches have flat out made some bad decisions this year that have contributed to the losses in addition to the turnovers. Dragging the QB controversy out the way the did I think was detrimental. Allowing the kickers to duel it out 4 games into the season arguably cost them a game as well. (IE. Pitt when the Moss has one FG under his belt and they trotted out Murray who missed the second attempt of the game). In the Northwestern game, I think it's fair to criticize the play calling on the final drive. Sure, Green was out...but there is no excuse to pass on EVERY down (except one) on the final drive, especially 4 times on the 8 yard line, when you ran all over them all game long. Call a run inside the 8, call and end around...but, no let's put the game on our Sophomore QB's shoulders when our bread and butter is clearly the passing game. MSU pretty much figured Iowa's offensive play calling strategies...even the game announcers mentioned a few of them (play action pass on 1st down). I didn't see enough of the MSU game to dissect it all...they ran Green 400 times and it looks like largely Iowa just couldn't get it done in the red zone. Although, one stark parallel I noticed, on the last drive...AGAIN, little diversity in play calling running Hampton and Green back to back to back to back...at least, if you're going to do it though, this time they did so to their strength, the run game. I still wonder why they waste time with Brodell returning punts. He's like your Grandpa's Cadillac, he can get up and run, but it takes time to get up to speed...that isn't the ideal returner, imo. |
