My favorite, by Colorado coach Dan Hawkins:

"It's Division I football! It's the Big 12! It ain't intramurals!

"You've got two weeks after finals, you've got a week of Fourth of July and you get a week before camp starts. That's a month that's probably more vacation time than you get. And we're a little bummed out that we didn't get three weeks?

Go play intramurals, brother. Go play intramurals."

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

I love Jim Rome's "I don't get it Dan" bit he does with Hawkins' quote. I also love that Hawkins is almost whining as he goes through his whole rant. But it's a passionate whining.

What division is it?

Is it intramurals?

So how much time do we get?

Should I play intramurals?

Who could forget John L. Smith's "Our kids are out there playing their tails off and the coaches keep SCREW'IN it up!" or something to that effect.

John McKay - hands down, the best quotes - college or pro.

I think the best quotes, for whatever reason, seem to be in pro baseball.
