This columnist might just have alternative motives as a Dallas fan.

I agree with the sentiments of this writer however, what these 2 young houdlums need is 12 months in court-ordered rehab/jail cell. They are certainly old enough to take responsibility for themselves.

If this case were about a family barely scraping by to make their mortgage payments, would he recommend the same medicine? Quit your job and take care of your 20 something kids, nevermind the rest of your family might be on the streets fending for themselves. I doubt it.

It seems that we, as a society, have pleanty of advise for those in dire situations, never-mind the fact that we have not lived one day in their shoes.

Should Coach Reid take a more active role in these young mens' lives? Absolutely. Is their well-being more important than a football game? Definitely. Will his stepping down from his position with the Eagles be the answer? I have serious doubts.

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

I don't agree with two major aspects she wrote about:

1. They are 22 and 24 yet they are now Reid's responsibility? Legally, and even socially, these guys need to be solely responsible for their own actions.

2. A leave of absence will do what exactly? Oh, that's right...probably the same progress after the last leave of absence, zero.

These children are the direct result of a life of excess!

Daddy needs to do the opposite of taking a leave of absence and let the birdies fend for themselves for once in their life.

Some may call it tough love, I call it growing up!

Although I don't know the details I am inclined to lean toward that belief.
