Oh, yeah, I think I Googled that site earlier I was like "no way he won an MVP", then I clicked on the link and saw it was showing where he fell in the voting.

There are arguments for and against Schilling. I'm not passionate either way. If he does get in, guys like Blyleven and Morris should be as well. I guess that's why I'd lean a "little" against. I don't want to start opening the floodgates for fringe candidates.

Speaking of HOFs, how great will the NFL class be in a couple years: Jonathan Ogden, Michael Strahan, Warren Sapp, Brett Favre, Larry Allen, Junior Seau and Bryant Young. Two of these guys are going to have to be left out (if my memory about 5 maximum enshrinees is correct). That's a difficult decision. Young seems to be one you can push back a year. But the others? Tough call.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Exactly, I am probably more against from that perspective than actually his performance perspective. Frankly, I like the bar where it is set, well I don't but I don't want it dumbed down even more...

Yeah we were discussing this over lunch today. I left out Young and Sapp. Actually, I am not convinced Sapp is HoF material.

We weren't sure either on the number per year...we were settling on 5 or 6.

*edit* Looks like 6...

I don't know that that's a fixed number though.

I think Sapp will get in the following year, but his candidacy is debatable too. The other 5 really aren't. Favre -- no brainer. Allen and Ogden -- arguably the two best OL of their era. Seau -- during his prime, as good (if not the best) a LB as there was. Strahan -- sack specialist, ambassador of the game, and Chunky Soup pitch man.

Yeah, really they all almost deserve first ballot selections (except Sapp)...I wonder if 2009 marks the last year for any Art Monk types that have been floating, I might push back someone due to that if I had a vote, but man...that's a heck of a list.

I Seau officially done? I never did see him announce it.

I don't think it's official. THere's a chance he might play again. I might sign another deal if I were him just so my HOF candidacy is pushed back another year. I don't want to share the spotlight with that crew.

Is Charles Haley in the HOF? Should he be? The guy does have something like 6 Super Bowl rings, and was always a major contributor on those teams. Off the top of my head, don't know where he stands.

I don't think Haley is in...I was trying to find a list of players that were considered. Imo, I'd probably put him there unless I saw a compelling case he shouldn't be.

From wiki:

Haley's supporters, who included the late Bill Walsh, believe his personal accomplishments, especially his record five Super Bowl rings, make him worthy of induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.[citation needed] However, in his first few years of eligibility Haley has not made it to the list of 15 finalists. Haley was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Wow, not even making the short list...I wonder if you can see the 15 finalists lists from past years.

vranged was allegedly nominated for enshrinement into the hotel/restaurant industry hall of fame as an enterprising type. Supposedly vranged turned down the nomination because the committee urged him to use his real name for the ceremony.

vranged cried out, "I'm VRANGED and that is all people need to know!" However the committee would not be swayed. They responded with cunning vigor by releasing a brief statement saying, "vranged is not your real name. Additionally, we have uncovered interesting facts that have lead us to relinquish our nomination."

I guess they found out that vranged was a self tooter and that in reality he had several failures including several failed restaurants that he had not disclosed prior to the nomination.

Poor vranged. Keep the disguise b1tch. Cyber is much more gentler than the cruel reality of life in the real world.

Wow, Dwight. That was just sad. Was that suppose to hit home? You failed miserably....again.

Are you like a social leper? Do you not know what is funny and what is not? It's like you don't know how to interact with other people. Maybe that's why you have to make up a bunch of different message board IDS. This is your social outlet. How sad.

Even by your standards, Dwight, that was regrettably disappointing.

Go make a new ID, Dwight -- you pathetic old man.

Told your daughter yet?

That would cause Dwight to have to look in the mirror. He surely doesn't want to do that. Why do you think he's coming on here under all sorts of different names??

Anything Dwight can do to distort his own disappointing reality is going to be done. It's tough to blame him.

How was it well written? It was literally one of the dumbest things ever to appear on this message board.

I'd love for you to get in a shot that actually had some sting. When I was up against egami, Logan and reideen, it'd happen from time to time. YOU HAVE NOTHING!!! YOU ARE DESPERATE!!!

And you can't deny that I've exposed you on so many things....easily!!

You are my b1tch, and it kills you inside b/c you thought you mattered.
