Jason Whitlock has an interesting theory on why NBA's TV numbers are up...tattoos.

Best line in his column:

"I know many of you probably think the number of tattoos doesn't influence viewing habits. You're wrong. Like everything else televised, appearances matter. There's a reason you don't see nude scenes in movies with fat people. Trust me, fat people have sex. It's just no one wants to see it. Not even fat people."

I don't agree with his correlation to viewing numbers, but I agree with much of the general sentiment.

The real reason viewership is up is because those of us who remember the great Lakers/Celtic matchups in the 70's and 80's, are flashing back, yearning for the old days of un-fixed, good ol' basketball.
