Husker fan has to like the home schedule. 8 home, 5 away. 5 home games in a row to start with.

Sat, Aug 30 Western Michigan Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Sep 06 San Jose State Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Sep 13 New Mexico State Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Sep 27 Virginia Tech Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Oct 04 Missouri (Homecoming) Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Oct 11 Texas Tech * at Lubbock, Texas TBA

Sat, Oct 18 Iowa State * at Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Oct 25 Baylor *
Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Nov 01 Oklahoma * at Norman, Okla. TBA

Sat, Nov 08 Kansas *
Memorial Stadium TBA

Sat, Nov 15 Kansas State * at Manhattan, Kan. TBA

Tough road schedule outside of Iowa State, and that can arguably be a stumbling block at times.

Not too bad of a home schedule.

The schedule overall will be a tough one. Western Michigan will be a good opener and they are going to be a good test. The SJS and NMS games NU should win, but that three-game stretch after that with VT, Mizzou and TT are going to be ball-busters. If the Huskers can win 2 of 3 there that would be huge. They may be lucky to get 1 of 3 in that stretch.

Iowa State will be tough on the road as they have been the past few years. Baylor won't be as easy a walkover as they've been in the past, but that should be a win. The OU game should be one of managing the chaos and try and bounce back for Kansas. K-State won't be much, and the CU game should be interesting.

I see wins over Western Michigan, San Jose State, New Mexico State, Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas State and Colorado. Wins over Virginia Tech, Texas Tech and Kansas are possible. Missouri and Oklahoma are going to require colossal efforts to keep it competitive.

Nebraska could finish anywhere from .500 to 9-3 in 2008. Don't think a Big 12 championship game is in the works, but if things are as funky as they were in 2006, they could actually be in the hunt. Right now, I think it's Mizzou's division to win, with the KU-Nebraska winner finishing 2nd.

Back to the basics for Ole' DMan. Let's get some "Red Koolaid" floating through this cyberly space.

Huskers win 10 games this season but are demolished against all "formidable" ranked opponents including Mizzou at home. Bo Pelini will show the fire that he is known for and and will have the defense back to having some sense of pride. (I don't think they could actually be a top notch unit if God were involved)

10-2 with a few of the wins coming in nail bitters. Go Skers!!!!

I thought you were a Colorado fan?

Oh...right...the pathological liar who pretends he's different things on a message board.

My bad.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Anywhere from 6 - 6 to 8 - 4, although injuries, suspensions and a host of other intangibles could come into play.

The offense has the horses to score points at will, however the defense might not be strong enough to stop a speeding turtle.

Just my opinion.

It's my fault," said first-year Nebraska coach Bo Pelini. "Damn right, yes, I'm embarrassed. I apologized to the team. I apologize to the state of Nebraska. I apologize to everyone associated with Nebraska football.
"It's my responsibility. I was hired to do a job and I didn't do the job, I'm just not a very good coach.

Just like 2007, it won't take long to see what the team is made of, the V Tech and Mizzou games will set the tone for the season. If Daniel & Maclin have a field day in Memorial Stadium look out for another loooong season.

i see at least 2 and quite possibly 3 losses in the first 5 games. after that baylor & k state are about the only thing as probable as blue balls on prom night for skip. the skers will be hurting worse after back to back losses to ou & ku than dwight's ass after a weekend with his army buddy. skers may not make a bowl for the second consecutive season in how many years sker freak?

dwight, refuting reality one post at a time.

Good to see a Logan post! Actually, I will see my Army buddy this weekend. So how is the new relationship going?

Best wishes, DMan.

I'm willing to bet an economy size jar of Peter Pan that Fergie says NU goes undefeated and wins the national title.

That'd be you who is too easily baited...rofl. You're so easy to get a reaction out of...and here you think you are the one manipulating peoples replies, too funny.

You took that one hook, line and sinker.

Nice try...you know that is your real thought. Who knows, you might be correct. I doubt it though with how easy NU's early schedule is.

Virginia Tech at home is a blessing if the crowd actually gets into the game. (Coin toss) NU win 4-0

Missouri will return to Gary ball by late November and barley wins the north but will hand NU its first loss. 4-1

Texas Tech hangover game (coin toss). Probably a loss though. 4-2

Iowa State is still Iowa State ( My prediction is it will be cold and rainy) NU wins by 14+ 5-2

Baylor big win gets our hopes up. 6-2

Oklahoma puts us back in check. 6-3

Kansas ???? I think last year was a flash in the pan and KU will already have 3 or 4 losses. NU win 7-4

Kansas State will look for revenge on last years score but to little to late NU in a close game. 8-4
Colorado NU ends regular big 12 season on a high note. 9-4

Missouri wins the north-

Cornhuskers the winningest college football program of the last 50 years, both by winning percentage and number of wins.

I guess I see NU winning 7 or 8 if everything goes their way, or maybe 6 or 7 if they struggle.

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

I'm confused, if they win 7 will it be because they are struggling or because everything is going their way?

I don't know how I can explain it any clearer. If everything goes their way, they win 7. If they struggle, they will probably win 7.

I'm thinking eight wins. The favorable home schedule helps. They shouldn't beat Mizzou based on talent. But, even Callahan beat the Tiggers in Lincoln.
The scary game is Texas Tech in Lubbock.
I have the feeling that if the Red Raiders are ever going to unseat Texas and OU and take the South, it'll be this year.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin
