"When they questioned her about it, honest and open as ever, she told them she'd inflicted the wounds herself and that it was part of an emo "initiation ceremony".

Yeah, that shouldn't of been cause for concern. Oh, my child is just part of an "initiation ceremony" where they are slitting her wrists...

Emo, punk, death metal...every era gets blames for suicide. Not that there aren't some inherently unhealthy aspects, but jeez, be parents.

Now I feel terrible. I bought my niece a Tickle Me Emo doll a couple Christmases ago. No wonder she wears black fingernail polish, and has her tongue pierced, at the age of 7.

Speaking of which, I read recently that Seasame Street was taking Bert and Ernie off its show b/c they represent Dwight and his army buddy....I mean, gay couples. I wonder how P.C. our society will get? They're also taking Oscar the Grouch off the show because it glorifies being a bum. I wish I was kidding.

Aren't they just puppets sending positive messages?

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

That's what I read, or maybe somebody told me that. I tried to do a quick search, and didn't find anything, so maybe I read it wrong, or somebody was full of crap. But within the last couple weeks I heard or read that was the case.

Oscar owns that show. That's just wrong if it's true. See, right back on topic...the Count is considered cool since he's Emo.

My favorite puppet-like kids show character was always the Swedish Chef off off the Muppets.

From the department of unnecessary censorship....

And, who knew the Muppet Show band were the forefathers of Coldplay?

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin
