That was a win that you can tell your grandchildren about years from now! Hopefully this translates to a sold out building for most games next year! Thanks for the memories this year, you deserve the Championship! |

| The Lancers are the local USHL Hockey team. Do they go by Omaha Lancers even though their home ice is in Council Bluffs? |
|
Counting the Herd one hoof at a time. |

| Oh, see that's where I got confused, this is a sports-related forum typically. |

They're the River City Lancers now. |

| Bugs -- they actually reverted back to the Omaha Lancers a year or two ago. They are referred to as the Omaha Lancers on the USHL website. |

| LOL, that's funny, an amatuer hockey club won't even claim Counciltucky as home. |

The change back to Omaha Lancers would have happened even if they had relocated to Millard. It was done in an attempt to sell tickets, nothing more or nothing less. My firm has season tickets just as we had season tickets when they played at Aksarben. The MAC is a Taj Mahal compared to the dump they previously played at. In my opinion the MAC is a better venue to watch hockey than the Qwest and when you throw in the parking situation at the MAC it becomes a no contest between the two as the MAC wins hands down. |

They need to close off the 200 level at Qwest for UNO hockey and limit the seating there. Better yet, they should play UNO hockey at the Civic where the majority of the seating is closer to the ice.
Never saw the Lancers at the Ak, but I love watching them at the MAC. |

AK was a dump from about the time the dog track opened until they shuttered the doors closed. Some of the seats actually had support pillars in from of them, they called them restricted view seats (clever). It was not a consumer friendly facility. The civic in my opinion was a much better venue for UNO hockey than the Qwest. The Qwest while fantastic for some events was not made for hockey. The MAC is in my opinion better than both when viewing hockey. |

So does that mean that Dukester will now alienate this fascination with them or embrace them just because they play at the MAC? Isn't it common knowledge that Dukester is Iowa through-and-through and completely anti-Nebraska? Oh, what will he do now? |

Sorry Dwight the only problem I have with Huskers is idiots like you who still predict an win every game and a Conference Championship each year. I have no problem with the Lancers being called the Omaha Lancers even considering they play in CB. The NY Giants play in NJ but are still called the NY Giants. By the way did you get the dents out of that last 2 cases of stew they sent you? |

Well GEE WHIZ at least Millard is in the same state as Omaha so that would make more sense. And I'm not ragging on the MAC at all, hell the Civic Auditorium is a palace compared to the Ak coliseum (or whatever they called it). I'm sure it's a real nice place. I just think it's funny the Lancers refuse to use the name of the city they actually play in. |

They never used the name Council Bluffs, they were called the River City Lancers so imo it's a non issue. My biggest pet peave is that Eppley Airfield is not considered part of Iowa when the pond to the west of it is in Iowa. |

| What's also great about them playing at the MAC, is if the puck accidently comes flying off the ice and hits someone in the mouth, the teeth are already gone, no damage done!!!!!! |
