Michael Vick is pleading guilty.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7132542

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Poor Mikey, this coming from the guy who proclaimed his innocense to the world.

Too bad he lied right to the commissioners face, his fans, teammates and the world.

Every generation has an idiot who history remembers for screwing up their lives beyond repair, this generations idiot is Mikey Vick!

May a dog poop on his grave when his time comes.

Next to come...all the sympathizers who will claim Vick is just a victim of circumstance and that his childhood in a poverty stricken culture is to blame.

As I look at this situation and logically evaluate it, I see Mike Vick as a victim of circumstance and if we want to lay blame for this terrible, terrible injustice of murdered and torchered dogs, we need only to look at Vick's poverty stricken childhood. Society I say! Society is to blame!

Vick was the name the feds needed to bring dogfighting to the public eye. Now, everyone knows the consequences. He served his purpose, in their eyes.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Poetic justice at its best, the really Bad Newz here isn't the name of Mikeys kennels anymore, it's his upcoming experiences in the showers in the Pen!

I think you are correct with that line of thought Vranged. However, I don't think there was any conspiracy against Vick. If anything, there was a conspiracy by Vick faithful to sabotage the investigation. His homeboys sure sang on command! hehe

I saw on TV this morning that the city of Atlanta is racially divided due to this fiasco. The African American community believes that Vick was used as a ploy and got a raw deal. The white community feels he got his. I tend to believe both are true.

Maybe...just maybe! Terrell "TO" Owens will witness this trial as reality to what can happen to guys that let their fragile, immature egos take them into waters that are too swift to swim in. Maybe T.O. will get at least some humbling thoughts from all of this and take his dogs to the Humane Soceity tomorrow. maybe....

I don't think there was any conspiracy either. Vick pled guilty, so there's something to the charges. I think the Feds went harder after Vick than your Average Joe because he was famous, to bring dogfighting to the public eye. In no way do I think it was racially motivated -- but perhaps fame-motivated.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

If they did go harder after Vick because of his star status then I really don't have any qualms with that. By and large celebs are at an advantage anyway simply because they have money.

I had heard at one time there was a picture of Vick 'in the act' of one of the allegations. That alone would've likely been enough for him to throw in the towel.

I just hope the NFL delivers him a harder sentence than the slap on the wrist he is probably going to get for taking the plea deal.

Meanwhile, anyone boiling live crabs at Red Lobster is safe.

the racketeering and tax evasion charges are going to carry more weight than the dog fighting charges.

That they are; and society's hypocrisy continues!

Difference- Boiling lobsters not illegal.
Additional difference -- The dogs weren't eaten.
Third difference -- People generally don't keep lobsters as pets.

1. Boiling lobster is not illegal; therein lies the hypocrisy. Other than society's perception (based on nothing), what's the differene between a dog and a lobster? Horse? Cattle?

2. Dogs weren't eaten. Nope, they were trained and killed for human enjoyment. As sick as that sounds, it's true. Same as lobster, horses, cattle, pigs, etc.

3. Pets? Who cares?

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!
