ESPN's Sportcenter has some good catch phrases, most of them being baseball related. What are your favorite/best Sportscenter catch phrases. I think one of the better current ones is "That must be a Homer, Simpson, cuz the pitcher just said D'oh!" However on of my favorite of all time "Delgado....Del got it" What are your favorite Sportscenter catch phrases?

None anymore...I can't bear to listen to SC anymore. The old school originality has been replaced by new school wannabe's. It's just not the same now that they've been bought out by Disney and honestly it was starting toward a decline before that.

I am not to excited about many of their new NFL writers either....Chadiha sucks, Mosely is marginal at best when he can break away from Cowboys banter, Williamson is almost guaranteed a spelling grammar or content error in every article.

If John Clayton ever leaves that'll be about do me in on ESPN.

I don't have a favorite, really. I just tend to like to original guys better.....Steiner, Berman (although he is getting worse with age...don't like him now), Eisen, Olbermann (even though I can't stand him anymore either).

I always loved the Patrick-Olbermann combination. To me, that is the co-anchor standard bearer. They were both funny, they could both riff off each other and they were both damn good reporters and interviewers.

I've lost a lot of respect for Olbermann, though, since he drank the kool-aid and has gone all left-wing-loony over at PMSNBC. He makes Howard Dean sound like Newt Gingrich.

Egami, you're the oldest 31 year old I know.

You really like John Clayton? Which part do you like about him? His constant sniveling whenever Sean Salisbury puts him in his place, or the spittle that accumulates on the side of his mouth that makes me sick to my stomach?

I know it's just a matter of opinion, but John Clayton is the worst thing on the network.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

They're all tired at this point, especially Berman on NFL Primetime. Do you really have to come up with a stupid nickname for EVERYONE? I think the last time I laughed at any of them was back when the Ravens had a WR named Michael Jackson, and they'd always drop the "hee hee" after they said it.

I was hoping we'd see the day when the powers that be at ESPN would make the mistake of putting Salisbury and Clayton in the same studio together.

Did you ever notice that whenever those two were arguing, one was at a team's training center and the other was in the studio? This was a good idea, only because if Clayton was sitting across the table and started talking trash to Salisbury, Salisbury would have pulled a Jim Everett and rolled the table over and beat the holy piss out of Clayton.

Now THAT would have been good television.

32, actually...

I am not a Clayton fan, but he is demonstrative of just how far that network has fallen. He is arguably one of their better analysts.

I don't watch ESPN that much, I mostly read it, so maybe I'd flat out hate him if I had to watch.

But as far as analysis, I like a lot of what he writes.

Clayton does know his stuff, I will give him that. He just has that face that I'm sure Salisbury like to punch out if he could ever get in the same room with him.

His face kind of reminds me of those little rubber stress toys that you can buy that are skin colored and the eyes pop out.

He also kind of reminds me of Ren from Ren and Stimpy.

I forget this guys name with Mortensen, but he is one of the current ones that drives me nuts listening to...he is terrible in some of his interviewing. Specifically the Chad Johnson one he did about a month ago...

He was horrible in that interview. It was actually painful watching it, due to his lack of interviewing skills.

Brian Kenney is his name and I happen to enjoy his brand of interviewing. On Friday Night Fights he was known for his controversial yet interesting interviews with many boxing champions, namely Floyd Mayweather.

Brian won a National Sports Emmy for Baseball Tonight in 2003, was named Sports Illustrated's Media Personality of the Year in 2004, and received the 2005 Sam Taub Award as the Boxing Writers Association's "Boxing Broadcaster of the Year".

So much for lack of interview skills. Try again slugs.

You need these continuing beatings, huh?

Since your understanding of "continuing beatings" is you screaming and hollering. And then begging the other battle torn soldiers to join your teen charade to reaffirm your stunted maturation level as a proud high schoolish level - ok then.

Listen, DMan shredded you on many occasions. Not confirming that is to lie. So ranting about D being a liar is hypocritical at best. I saw all those posts of days gone by where D used his masterful ability to strike where it hurts most. I saw you reduced to name calling, ridiculous accusations, and just the antics of a teen that is back peddling away to safety.

You did a pretty good job of shredding him at times too. But! The truth is the truth and D has "beat down" and emotionally damaged just about everybody that is somebody on this board. He isn't right in many ways, I know. He can be downright ruthless.

To capsulate, the battle has never been lopsided. If it were you would not be so consumed with DMan.
