Iowa has, unfortunately, been going backwards for a couple of years, so I'm not too surprised to see them on that list. On a positive note................IT'S A F#CK'IN SPRING BALL FOOTBALL GAME! Ahem, I mean, I wonder who won the game..........SMART-ASS!? |

Must have been a very slooow day in sports for that article to even merit being published! |

It's my fault," said first-year Nebraska coach Bo Pelini. "Damn right, yes, I'm embarrassed. I apologized to the team. I apologize to the state of Nebraska. I apologize to everyone associated with Nebraska football. "It's my responsibility. I was hired to do a job and I didn't do the job, I'm just not a very good coach. |

Wrong again Bugs, both teams need to prove something this year in order to quantify what is said about them in the story. A spring game filled with saps who can't afford to purchase enough tickets to get the tribe into a regular season game is not what NCAA Championships are built on. Put down the kook aid and let's resume this conversation sometime in late January, until then I merely laugh at you! |

Just read the actual article...
Regarding Michigan being in reverse....not really. If you want to talk about being in reverse look at the late Carr era when we could barely win a bowl game or beat Ohio State.
First, I'll address the points the writer brings up:
1. QB
QB isn't an issue. People so quickly forget that the Spread O is adaptable. Case in point, anyone remember a QB named Rasheed Marshall? Not the most mobile of QB's. Not the most talented either. Threet is probably at least as serviceable as Marshall was and Nick Sheridan could develop as well.
The Spread O is adaptable. We didn't need to recruit Terrelle Pryor to be successful, and frankly would we feel overly comfortable with the reigns of our offense in Freshman like that? No. So, the QB issue is being blown out of proportion a bit. I think we can be fine two years with what we've got.
And, honestly, I am glad we didn't get Pryor...he smacks of drama and attention whoring.
2. O-line
This is the more legit concern. I'd argue only two of them were projected starters that we lost and frankly the reason we lost two of the three were because they couldn't handle our new S&C's program. This was one of my biggest concerns under Carr. S&C was pathetic for the size of school we were.
In the end, we were deep at o-line so not a big deal...it's not like anyone that left the school was an incumbent starter we're All B10 team or something.
Lastly,
The fact is, we are rebuilding and we would be rebuilding anyway. And this was the perfect year for a coaching change. Sure, offense is cause for some concern, but overall our defensive scheme remains very much the same and our defensive personnel are all back minus two key starters. So we're sitting pretty good there.
But to say we're in "reverse"? That's a bit premature... |
