| A week and a half ago theKC royals were 9-4 and tied for first place in the AL central. Now, there are riding a 7 game losing streak and suprise suprise, they are once again in last place in the central. I honestly don't know why i still follow this team. well the good news is, it's still early in the season. Now i don't think, nor have i ever thought that the Royals were going to win the division this year, but i only hope they are competative, and they finish around and hopefully above .500. My question to you, Do you think the Royals will finsh last in the central again this year???? |

| I think the Royals finish last every season by virtue of being a pathetic excuse for a franchise that has no real interest in fielding a solid team in the first place. |

| i think there has been more of an effort this year than in past years. i think they have 3 solid starter with Grienke, Bannister, and Tomko. Gil Meche, can be good, but has been ruffed up so far this season. If they lock down Alex gordan with a long term contract, she would give me some hope. also Gordan and butler have been playing pretty well, and over all they have been playing agressing baseball. But they needto get some power in the line up. Gordan leads the team in HR with 3, but those all came in the first week of the season. |

| I am not criticizing the players. I am just that by and large the front office for KC has no real interest in pursuing the caliber of players necessary to make a serious run at the post-season. |

| i am not saying you are questioning the players, but i think the front office is doing a better job, but a great job, at building a better team. i am a realist, i know if you are goingto take the build approach to putting a competative team together, it might take a couple of season. But i do think thatt he front office needs to do more to make them competative. The pitchingis getting better, but you can never haver too much pitching. I think they need to get another solid starter, and work on the bull pin. They also needto seek more power. I wonder if KC was even interested in the "Big Hurt" it sounds like oakland got him for a great deal, and i think KC could have afforded him. Now this would only have been a temporary solution b/c Thomas's carrer is winding down, but it would have been nice to know that the front office made an attempt to upgrade it power. i also think they needto do someting with Pena. the kid is hitting .118 i think, really good inthe field, but can they not have someone DH for him. Over all i just want to see KC get better, and i think they are goingto be better than last year. my only concern is that they develope decent talent, i.e Gordan, and then trade him for cash and a couple of AAA players. |

So you are saying I am not a realist? You're also biased by virtue of being a Royals fan.
This team has a TON of work to do in building into a franchise that can make serious playoff runs. Personally, I think your realism glasses have a rose tint to them.
When I see KC actually making solid consistent moves at moving the franchise forward I'll give them credit. Up to now, I have no reason to go "goo goo" over what they've done.
If what you are saying is true, and they truly are moving that direction, then it's largely a recent development and it's too early to give them any kind of real props for their efforts. Should that time come...I'll acknowledge it, but I can't say I've seen them do more that their historic "bargain basement" mentality. |

I could see where that is possible...you follow them closer than I do.
I certainly hope they are because I'd like to actually make a trip and see them sometime as a competitive team.
Besides, then maybe Boston Sports 590, a Royals affiliate, would actually cover them more than they do the Red Sux. |

Anytime....good luck to your Royals, I am Yankee fan, but I always have a place in my heart for those teams that traditionally suck.

With all due respect...the Royals haven't TRADITIONALLY sucked...they were a pretty damn good team in the 70's and 80's.
Recent history would make it SEEM as if they have traditionally sucked... |

| Heh, I'm actually going to my first KC Royals game this Saturday night so it's nice to hear they're already back to sucking. At least I'm going to get a free Royals blanket out of the deal. |

It's my fault," said first-year Nebraska coach Bo Pelini. "Damn right, yes, I'm embarrassed. I apologized to the team. I apologize to the state of Nebraska. I apologize to everyone associated with Nebraska football. "It's my responsibility. I was hired to do a job and I didn't do the job, I'm just not a very good coach. |

| Bugeater, hope you enjoyed the free blanket. You need to go to every Royal game this year and they will win the central for sure. Also, did you get to see the old school powder blue uniforms? |

| Negatory on the unis, they were wearing white. And as far as making every game, I already blew that by coming home yesterday. I have to admit I had a way better time than I thought I would, very nice atmosphere in the K, and that jumbotron they put in there...wow, just wow. |

I got mine for free from a friend I have in St Joseph, face value on it was $23 but they were really good seats, we were almost right behind home plate about 10 rows up. I'd guess that the upper deck tickets could be had for around $10. |
