only 4 more hours for the recall Fahey idiots to get there petitions in. I have a srong feelingthatthey will not get enough people to sign. Has anyone else noticed that they have not released any figures at all in regards to this petition????? If this does happen, i would have to consider this a huge upset, right up there with nebraska beating USC last year......wait that never happened, neither will this

Because they have consistently refused to release any numbers, I'm of the opinion that it's going to die a very quiet and well-deserved death.

And I was right...just over 8,200 signatures, barely a third of the number needed.

Not surprised at all about the results of the recall petition.

Thousands of people who are not happy with the way the stadium situation was handled by the mayors office did not vote to recall him as they realize that is not the best way to approach this subject, if I was Mikey I wouldn't put this as any mandate to run for re-election, as he might find out he is not as popular as he is being led to believe he is.

Let him finish his term then demand that he leave via the backdoor.

Only 8,200? LOL. What a joke. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me though, I've seen some of those yay-hoos around town and they've always just been sitting there with no one around.

funny stuff, if you got to the recall-fahey web site, they say dispite their 8200 petitions they are goingto reform the committee and try again. These guys didn't even get half the petitions they need!!!!! Now i really don't care if the guy get re-elected or not, but if you don't like him, just don't vote for him in his re-election.

According to Perrault, the recall failed because HE (Perrault) single-handedly changed the mindset of Omahans regarding the baseball stadium. He was the ONLY media member to jump on board from the begining, and HIS show is why the change in mentality occured. (according to Perrault)

Just like TnT with the Qwest, the citizens of Omaha now have another (self proclaimed) Journal Radiohead to thank for the progressiveness of the City. Great job Matt. You are a legend in your own mind.

Perrault might be the dumbest person on radio.

Yeah, I about drove in the ditch when I heard him tooting his own horn. Travis's response was...."Matt, you are assuming everybody in Omaha listens to your show" by making that comment.

The only thing that sucks about this is that the Pro-stadium crowd sees it as an endorsement of what Fahey has done, and I don't see that being the case. I just see it as the people of Omaha realize it's stupid to recall a mayor when his term is up in one year anyway, regardless of how you may feel about him.

He really SAID that??? You've got to be kidding me. I always figured him to be a worthless blowhard. That seems to confirm my suspicions...

He'll probably go on the air today and take credit for the beautiful, sunny day.

What a moron...LOL

There is no misunderstanding that Perrault thinks that HE is the reason for the new stadium and the failed recall petition. He (according to him) single-handedly changed the vote of 2 city council members....one right on air during the show.

I sure hope Fahey sends him flowers or something. A gesture of this magnitude warrants a pretty substantial thank you.

I wonder if that segment was left off the podcast.

It was actually very entertaining radio, because Travis was calling him on it.

Travis Justice as the voice of reason...if HE is calling Perrault out, that says something about Perrault's false sense of self-worth.

I'm sure if the Huskers turn around and win the national title, he'll take credit for that as well. What a tool...

This just in...Perrault has taken credit for the following 10 items:

1. The Red Sox 2004 AND 2007 World Series titles

2. All three Patriots Super Bowl wins AND the 2007 regular season (he has denied any connection with their Super Bowl XXLII performance, however)

3. The invention of the forward pass

4. The designated hitter

5. The 3-point shot (original ABA version, not the bastardized version of today)

6. Creighton's string of NCAA tournament appearances (even though he was only around for the last 1-2 of them)

7. The new start date for the College World Series

8. The relocation of the Sonics to Oklahoma City

9. The revival of the Ottawa franchise in the Canadian Football League

10. Indoor lacrosse

And he's done it all from the studios of Baggy Shorts 590...and if you don't believe me, just ask him.

What a dope...

I thought that was Travis' deal. He's the only one on that station that has any kind of access to the UNL athletic office. Perrault wouldn't be able to find the place if Todd and Tyler drove him up to the front door of Memorial Stadium.

So I see that nothing has changed in Omaha and in the broadcast booth. Some of us move up and move on, some of us move on and stagnant and some of remain the same all the way til the end.

I guess Perrault will always be Perrault.
