http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3357972 Things are getting murkier for Adam Jones. If the police have done their detective work right this could be BIG trouble for him. |

| I don't see Jones as the bad guy in that article. |

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up! |

| Oh, I misread the part about the "services rendered"...I thought that seemed contradicting to the "extortion" claim. |

| It all depends on whether the "extortion" was for, as he said to keep his family safe, or whether it was for this guy to keep quiet about what happened that night. Frankly, why would the "shooter" ask for money to not talk to authorities about Pacman. It doesn't make a whole lotta sense. Maybe this time Pacman is telling the truth? |

| I don't know, I am not totally buying that Jones allowed himself to be extorted and failed to mention it up until now. |

His future in the NFL depends on whether this is the story he gave Commish Goodell. If he lied, not so good for him.
The extortion was only something like $15,000. When you're a multimillionaire, maybe you just pay it and hope for the best rather than going to the authorities. I don't know. |

| Will Tupacman and Tank be roomies? Are there enough strip joints in the DFW to meet demand? |

| Do ya think Jerry has some assurances from the Commish on Pacman's reinstatement? |

| No, I think they've written up the trade in a manner the hedges against getting burned. I have never been to get too "conspiracy theorist" though. |

| Yeah, I guess he is certainly worth the risk of a 4th round pick.....and if he gets suspended, I guess they don't have to pay him. |

He certainly fits the Cowboys mold -- the defensive equivalent of Michael Irvin.
What's the over-under on how long it will be before he screws up again? Jones won't release him, because he's too enamored with thugs with game, but it isn't a matter of WILL he screw up so much as it is WHEN he will screw up. |

Yeah, no scrip clubs in Dallas. No risk at all of a player bein' rebellion there. |

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin |
