| Soon after, New England's changes to run the table again...they have 4 games against playoff caliber teams and the rest is mush, literally. |

| Some doorknob Pats fan on one of the message boards was defending their schedule saying how the Colts and a couple other made it tough. I was like "your schedule isn't weak just because of your out of division draws, your team flat out plays in the worst division in the NFL and they play those teams TWICE". |

Did you happen to catch South Park last night. Cartman was teaching inner city Latinos how the white folks get ahead in life by cheating. Bellecheat was his platform. |

Seahawks have some tough road games this year -- at Giants, at Tampa, at Dallas. Fortunately, season-openers at Buffalo (as opposed to late-season game) Miami and the three divisional whackjobs should mean about a .500 record on the road.
They get Green Bay, Philly, Washington, the Patriots and the Jests at home, and there are 6-7 winnable home games there counting the divisional games with the Ewes, 69ers and the Sparrows.
11-5 seems a reasonable expectation this year, I think...although 9-7 is all Seattle will need to win the division again. |

Since you follow the team closer than I do, why has the Seahawks' offseason plan consisted of signing as many RBs as possible? They've got Shaun Alexander and Maurice Morris -- two decent backs. Then, they sign Julius Jones and TJ Duckett to similar multi-year deals. What am I missing? It's Matt Millen'esque, only instead of receivers, they're going for backs.
As an outsider looking in, it doesn't look like there's much direction in Seahawk-land. They better not draft a back.

Alexander got hurt early the year after he signed his big extension, and he's not the same back he was due to that injury and the fact that Hutchinson left for Minnesota and he was a big part of Alexander's breakout year because they ran to that side so freaking much. Morris is a good back, but they feel like they need a 2nd back.
It may seem strange, but it's a LOOOOOOOONG way from being a Millenesque move... |

I don't get what they are doing... Imo, Seattle needs help along the o-line. They screwed up Millen-esque on losing Hutch, that's for sure. Now they have a declining, nearly retired, Walter Jones who isn't as good. I am not convinced Ashworth strengthened anything for them. And Mack Strong isn't easily replaced at FB. So they go out and add depth at RB? I would hope they have a trade in mind. Because otherwise they are going to fart around this season with 6 RB's on their roster and end up just letting someone go. It doesn't SEEM strange, it IS strange. SA will be gone though, imo. |

I'm liking that Chiefs/Patriots matchup in week 1. Hopefully the Pats will break any will Chiefs might have and set up a run for the #1 pick next year, and if I'm really lucky it will spell the end of the Herm and Carl.

It appears my Bears will have to pull a NY Giant for 2008/2009. After losing their first 4 games, they will need to bring it the rest of the season. |

First time since 1986 that the Bucs are in KC. I know where I'll be November 2. |

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin |
