Since we have some trolling going on...in an effort to get a serious thread on topic... Is it really THAT bad? Everyone is whining that we four #1 seeds in the Final Four for the first time ever. I'd submit that it's not...especially considering the run the tourney has had without it happening. In fact, I think that for a change it'll be nice to have the seeded top teams, the teams people expected to be good, actually have a chance to duke it out without a Cinderella in the way. The top teams made it and have done so convincing for the most part. The deserve to play and I think frankly it'll be nice knowing that this seasons champion will have truly earned it every step of the way. |

I love it -- while the George Masons and Villanovas are compelling stories and interesting for fans who like the underdog, I think it's refreshing to actually have the four best teams be the last four standing. And since it's never happened before, I think it's not only going to be a great storyline but it's going to give us three tremendous basketball games during the Final Four. Both semifinal matchups are going to be great battles -- to say nothing of the storyline of Roy Williams going up against the Kansas team he coached for so many years -- and regardless of Saturday's outcomes we're going to have a tremendous national championship game.
Anybody who's whining about this Final Four really needs to have their head slapped. This is going to be basketball worth watching. |

| It appears Memphis is on a mission. It will be fun to watch these final 4 teams. Nothing wrong with the 4 most dominant teams all year long making their run for the National title. |

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time. |

I love Memphis' athleticism. If they could shoot free throws the way they finish fast breaks, they would walk away with the title this year.

| I think despite their FT% they may be the team to beat. The one thing I've admired about them that I think they own every other team in is their resiliency. They play the same, or arguably even better at times, when they are behind. |

I was surprised at how well they dominated Texas. As well as Texas has played this year, and playing a de facto home game for their regional final, I figured if it was close the Longhorns would prevail. Memphis never let them even get to that stage.
I'll bet all the experts, though, pick the Carolina-Kansas winner as the national champ. I've got UNC in all my pools and I still believe in Psycho T, but the way they're playing right now it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Memphis win it. |

I have UNC winning it all. I am sticking with that prediction, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Memphis win it.
I think we'll see a UNC vs. Memphis Final. I think Kansas is pushing their luck and I think UCLA has had a relatively easy path up to Xavier. |

I agree...I kept waiting for KU to pull away against Davidson and they just couldn't seem to shake them. UNC is much too talented a team for KU to play like that and expect to beat, and Tyler Hansbrough is just playing with a level of energy that I don't think he'll allow the Heels to be beat right now.
If the game's close and it comes down to free throws, I think UCLA might slip past and advance. The way Memphis has played throughout this tournament, though, I doubt they'll let it get to that point.
I agree with you, egmai -- I think it's a UNC vs. Memphis final, with UNC winning it all. |
