-A 100 year curse for the Cubbys?

-Bubblehead's return and to which team?

-Will the Yankees return to WS form?

-Will the Redsox be able to maintain their position atop MLB's best?

-How will his off season character assasination effect Roger Clemen's performance on the mound?

So many questions that the answers begin to be developed today.

I just love opening day in baseball and the start of the playoffs. IMO, the season has always been too long in this sport.

And you have on cue demonstrated what I have hallucinated from day one in regards to you.

I actually created Fergie in part to attack you Crit without you knowing it was me. Some of your takes were so lame that I almost came at you as myself a few time...

Best case scenario for 2008, although we know at least one of these events will never happen:

-- Royals beat Red Sox in ALCS on ninth-inning home run by Alex Gordon

-- Cubs win World Series at Wrigley Field

-- Bud Selig dies when hit by an errant pitch by Kerry Wood during the ninth inning of Game 7.

If it's still called Wrigley Field.

Maybe Wrigley Field at Famous Dave's Bar-B-Q Stadium?

Since Dumbass Dwight seems intent on hijacking another thread -- even one he started himself -- here's to getting back on-topic...

Just from a historical perspective, I'd like to see a Yankees-Cubs matchup in the World Series. The Cubs get to the Series for the first time in 60-plus years, and Yankee Stadium plays host to one more World Series before it's torn down.

Realistically, though, I think that it will be Boston and either the Mets or Cubs in the World Series this fall, which would still be compelling but not near as historical.

Nice work Sealoser, play the "I'm the decent guy" card. I like it!

If you chose that card more often I wouldn't have to slap you around.

I don't tend to get too fired up about "Opening Day" anymore, as the season is sooooooo frick'in long, that it is hard to get excited about it all. I will go watch a few major league games over the summer as that is the only way I find excitement in major league baseball. TV doesn't cut it for me; at least until the divisional playoffs and the World Series.

I like opening day, but it's about the only major league baseball I'll sit and watch on TV until the playoffs.

I am in the same boat as Crit. Except insert going to minor league games instead of major league. I make little to no effort to go to MLB games anymore unless it's a stadium I haven't been to or something.

Double headers and 10 straight days with at least a game everyday of it. WOW!

Too much.

Did anybody see the Washington-Atlanta game on ESPN last night? Man, Washington's new stadium looks awesome. I loved the bit where a $5 seat in the top row in the left field corner gets you a view of the White House and Washington Monument.

Going to attend a ballgame or two at that stadium this season. The Nats probably won't be any good (like the Orioles) so the tickets prices will be manageable.

If any of you have ever been to DC you know the traffic routine. It is bad on a normal day of business, let alone game day. (Where's the vendor selling bottled water?)

Boston Sports 590 carries the Royals?
When did that happen?

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Speaking of the Royals, they spanked Detroit today. Maybe money doesn't matter.

That I can't answer. I only listen to Boston Sports 590 when I'm in the vehicle, and with 8 inches of snow here today, I haven't been driving around much.
