Well, I didn't say better...I said calm. No question he has arguably been at the peak of his game lately, but he isn't at the peak of his ability to withstand things like this.

Woods should just stop b1tchin and take his lumps.

btw, good job Egami with the new threads. This place needed them.

I'd post here more if more sports was talked about.

The next person who says anything bad about Tiger is going to get their neck broken!

As a former journalist with experience in sports photography, I made it a habit to either shoot a golfer on impact with the ball or during their follow-through. Of course, shooting high school and college golfers is completely different from shooting Tiger Woods or some other PGA flunkie (compared to Woods), but it's just a common practice to NOT shoot golfers while in their backswing during competition.

Unfortunately, there are some photographers out their who just INSIST on being a**holes, so in my mind Tiger is 110 percent justified in calling them out the way he did. What they are doing to him is the equivalent of somebody putting their hand in front of the photographer's lens as he's hitting the shutter, and I have yet to meet a photographer who wouldn't choke the living sh*t out of somebody who tried that.

No, actually I have been a Tiger fan since he arrived on the scene and quite frankly this outburst has lowered my opinion of him.

Maybe it's just me, but he doesn't seem the same since his father passes away. And historically he's been much, much more calm under pressure.

I've been to two or three events over the years and I know it's happened to him before. It's been going on for some time and now all the sudden I get the feeling he is throwing his weight around about the problem because he knows he knee-jerk reacted to the situation.

If anything it proves that Eldrick T. Woods is still a baby at heart. He wasn't the first player to be in the motion of taking a swing and the camera goes click. Photographers being present are part of the game, it comes with the territory.

Maybe all the stories about Earl blasting air horns behind Eldrick while he was practicing is just a bunch of bunk?

Do I think it is proper to be taking a picture at that particular moment, hell no!

But Eldrick needs to get over it and not blame his loss on that one particular shot, man up Tiger as the big boys say.

It's my fault," said first-year Nebraska coach Bo Pelini. "Damn right, yes, I'm embarrassed. I apologized to the team. I apologize to the state of Nebraska. I apologize to everyone associated with Nebraska football.
"It's my responsibility. I was hired to do a job and I didn't do the job, I'm just not a very good coach.

Exactly, and this is primarily why I am not taking Tiger's side on this issue.

1. It's been done to others.
2. It's been done to him.
3. This doesn't excuse his on course actions.
4. I'll throw the "role model" excuse in because it definitely applies with Tiger.

The PGA should take action against Tiger for the outburst. The PGA should take action against photographers that violate this.

Fact is, Tiger knew this was going on before he erupted. He had the political clout necessary to deal with it politically and by working with the PGA.

There is really no excuse for his childish behavior.

No excuse except for what Mike Golic and I have been saying. He is human and not every human is the same. There is no textbook way to live life.

I'm pretty sure I would have flown off the handle at the jerk too.

I don't understand the point.

No one said he has to be perfect. He made a mistake, period. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that and righting the wrong.

Next time it happens, they should fine Tiger and ban the offending photographer from future PGA events.

Everybody wins...

Yep.

And, in fairness, the PGA should be taking action to educate any photographer that gets on the course.

There were any number of ways this situation could have been handled, none of which were the way Tiger chose.

Regardless of the situation or circumstance, threatening bodily harm, IMO is just flat unacceptable. Hell, for all we know, this was a teenage kid who idolized the Tiger and wanted an action shot of his backswing.
