WOW what a game, but it is painfully obvious that CU may need a new weight room..

Was it just me or did it seem the lack of beer had an effect on attendance?

Yeah, because so many people are looking to go out on the Tuesday night following Saint Patrick's Day to drink overpriced beer.

Do people think before they make these accusations?

If you think beer had a significant impact on the attendance, given all the other variables surrounding the game, you are a bona fide moron.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

I really didn't buy into the beer reasoning either. So many other factors jump off the page before I'd think beer.

1.) NIT
2.) Late nite game
3.) Day after St. Patty's
4.) Same week as NCAA's coming to town
5.) (See #1 again)

I think 1 and 2 came into play more than the others, however you could list "no beer" as #5.

The NIT doesn't spark the type of interest that most Creighton fans have come to expect in March.

Visitors traveling would of had an effect somewhat as well.....fact is, there are a number of reasons. Biggest being that CU fans are mostly bluehairs that can't handle a late night!

Not the single most factor but it had an effect.

As stated by many on this board the fact it was an NIT game and had a late start also had an effect. However the late start didn't seem to effect the Wisconsin - Cal State crowd.

Oh great, here we go with the "we're too good for the NIT" argument.
I shouldn't be surprised by that attitude seeing that Creighton has such a storied history of success in the NCAA tournament.

I'm not sure what you're watching, but I'm seeing a lot of empty seats for that game. Hell there's a section of the first row that's almost completely empty.

Point is certainly many more people than attended the NIT game.

Yeah, I am not buying the "we're too good for the NIT crap" either. Has about as much weight as the beer factor.

True, but people had MONTHS to plan for that locally. They could take off work. They could arrange for babysitters. They bought their tickets ahead of time.

Creighton fans had about 48 hours.

I know dozens of people with Creighton season tickets -- about a third of them went to the NIT game. None of them skipped out because of lack of beer.

I'm just glad I went to see such a great game. Didn't think about beer once, as I haven't drank on a Tuesday since college.

WOW and to think I was simply commenting on how small CU was V RIU...

Beer or no Beer who cares... 8k was as loud as the 17K there prior and still a better crowd then most.

I dont have many hairs left ... lets not split them all... Chirst.

Start time and short notice were the two top factors no doubt. Still think lack of adult beverage may have kept a few away but it was the day after Saint Paddys Day and even the Dukester would have had a hard time downing a cold one!

Solution to settle this debate: Everyone meet at Barrett's and SeahawkSB42loser and Kevin Thedrunk will pick up the tab.

(Just don't stay too long --- Kevie & Seahawk are onery when they slam into the nite)
