Tim, if you have a bookie, lose his telephone number.

SEC and Big 12 - maybe.

Back in 1995, when the web was new, visitors to a new site would lean forward, squint at the page, and try to figure out how it worked.
That metaphor didn't last. People don't lean forward and squint at web pages to figure out how they work anymore. And if they don't recognize what kind of page they're on, they generally give up and hit the back button. Much like the comments you bring to this board my guess is most people just hit the back button when they see it is your post. As far as my gambling, my guess is I did loose more money than you last year but that is because I can afford to loose money. I bet you can’t?

Anybody see ESPN's experts' predictions? All 12 picked USC to win the National Title.

9 of 12 picked Nebraska to win the Big 12 North (2 votes for Missouri; 1 for Kansas). Nobody had Nebraska winning the Big 12 title game.

If (big if) Nebraska can pull the game off against USC, given the overwhelming and consensus feeling that they are better than anyone in the country, it'll be one of the biggest wins in the history of the program.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Only if USC has 1 or 2 losses at the end of the season...if they have 3 or more then it's not that caliber of win.

They didn't invent that "back" thingamajigger until 1996, back when the net was one year old, did they?

As for you being Charles Barkleyish, that sounds like a problem you need to deal with elsewhere, you wealthy young mogul you.

Is this where I tell you how much money I made last year?

I believe Al Gore was a sponsor of a legislative bill to expand on the existing technology, which was already up and going. I believe that was in 1990 or 1991.

What I think Tim meant to say was in 1995, when the household internet market exploded due to the likes of America On-line and Prodigy providing easy/expensive access to the internet. But I'm not trying to put words into his mouth, so I'll let him explain himself.

He also states that the squinting and leaning thing is a metaphor, but I'm not sure for what.....but he should be able to tell us that as well.

I think "loose money" is just the spare cash that Tim has laying around that he can blow on his gambling action. I just thought all this talk about "loose money" was due to his excessive wealth and lack of concern for losing it when gambling.

I typically don't like to try to slam a poster due to spelling or grammer, but more on content, but you're right Logan, I think he meant lose money, but I'm sure he will be able to tell us.

Oh, Crit -- you misspelled "grammar". The irony.

But that's okay. Tim misspelled "too" in the thread title.

I guess I should use spell check so that you may actually have to make a point instead of looking for spelling errors. The point of a message board to deliver a message. This is not an English class but I guess if you have no valid point then you look for grammatical errors. As far as how I gamble I look at it this way if you are already fully invested and you have a 529 college savings plan that is ready for my children now at ages 5 and 6 then yes I may make some risky bets but I look at it as a diversification. Warren Buffett and George Soros are both multi-billionaires — due solely to their ability to invest in winners. It’s ironic that most of their investments are in businesses that haven’t diversified themselves or a large gamble.

You have to use spellcheck for "too" and "lose"? Maybe you should try diversifying some of your brain cells into 3rd grade knowledge. Its stock is soaring, yet you refuse to get onboard.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd be ashamed and embarrassed if I was an adult who didn't know the difference between to/too and lose/loose. Low standards in Tim's household apparently.

Wonder what those kids of yours will spend their college savings on. It certainly won't be college. Magic beans?

Speaking of D1AA teams. I have a cousin playing at Grand Valley State University. Is Grand Valley a D1AA team or DII. I know they have quite the football tradition no matter what division they are ...

An interesting take, but I don't think you can state something like that figurtively if you actually fill out a ballot to vote on who's #1 each week.

Did you mean: figuratively

Spell check is a wonderful thing. It doesn't however, correct feeble-mindedness
