Does anyone really care that the Omaha Knights are leaving? Or for that matter, would anyone care of the Omaha Royals left town?

As a young boy I enjoyed watching the Omaha Knights at Aksarben, but must admit I did not have any yearning to go watch the newer version of the Knights. Competition comes into play with UNO and the Lancers also in competition for fans.

I prefer to watch the Lancers, parking is better at the MAC than both the Qwest or the Civic. The MAC is more comfortable to watch a game than the Civic and on an even keel with the Qwest in that respect.

The Royals are a bargain for family entertainment but being the Triple A affiliate of Kansas City has got to be an anchor around any teams neck!

after all, kansas city is just a farm team for the rest of the major leagues. i actually went to an omaha royals game last thursday, a vendor purchased one of the "luxury" suites. not a bad ball game. i was talking with a colleague about a player and mentioned "if this guy keeps going he'll be in kansas city before the end of the season and if he does really well he'll be in new york or boston in just a few years."

dwight, refuting reality one post at a time.

Whats sad is the same people who talked the taxpayers into holding the title to the "White Elephant" on 10th Street(Hilton) want them to tear down Rosenblatt and build a new ballpark in an area of town known for winos and drive by shootings!

Nice to see it didn't even take you a week to start spewing your ignorance again.

I do not support the effort as it now stands to move baseball downtown, however the Hilton situation is unrelated albeit it now appears the city bankrolling of the Hilton was an ill conceived idea.

I can't believe the Omaha Knights would choose to move after only losing $4MM in the Omaha market over the last 2 years. Greedy bastards!

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

Certainly can't fault them for making a sound business decision. I am perplexed however at what business model they used to make the decision to come here in the first place.

Maybe the whole thing was a ploy for a tax deduction.

Re: The Omaha Knights.
It was a combination. One -- Too many cheap people in the area, especially with two pre-existing hockey teams. Two- An ownership that was too lazy to put the effort required needed to make it work. If they thought they could win fans over in two years, especially with a mediocre team the first year, they were mistaken.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin
