The Bears have solidified their desire to limp by with sub-par QB's by re-signing Wrex Grossform...again.

Seriously, it's like an unwritten rule their QB's have to suck.

I don't post 'content' to try and have my threads be 'popular'.

I hadn't seen or heard this yet, but it had better have been for "back up" money. The Bears need to seriously persue a real QB this off-season. Seriously.

I think I heard the re-signed Orton as backup for a one year deal too.

This is the problem that I have with professional sports. You have a guy that hasn't shown you anything during his contract period, so you let him know of your unhappiness with his performance by giving him a 1 year, $3MM deal, plus $2MM in incentives if he is the starter.

Where the f&%k can I find a job like THAT?

Yeah, I don't get it...I have no idea what the Bears are thinking about their QB future. To me, it's obvious Wrex isn't the answer. At best, he's a long term #2. However, there is nothing worth grabbing on free agency...so, let's say they draft a QB. I think the only QB worth a 14th overall selection is Matt Ryan, and I think that's a stretch even though everyone has him pegged as a Top 5. If I am the Bears, I draft a RB at 14 and wait until the 2nd round to grab a Henne, Flacco or something.

So, I guess their strategy is...give Grossman/Orton 1-year deals. Probably shed yourself of Griese. Draft a rookie to have a competition available going into 2009 season. Hope that Grossman is motivated and shows progress in 2008...AND can show he's healthy. Because, in my mind, that's a red flag with him alone outside of the performance issue.

I don't know...if I were a Bears fan I'd be getting extremely perturbed by the Grossman Experiment at this point.

Rex Grossman is a joke. Chicago can't identify the difference between a soccer girl and a quarterback. That much is clear.

I dunno...I've seen tougher and smarter soccer girls than Rex Grossman. You may want to apologize to the soccer girls out there...

It's going to be real interesting to see how they draft.
