This is pure speculation and maybe even a little outlandish, but suppose the word at Indiana was that Sampson would be let go prior to the end of the season.....and suppose the school contacted Knight about this predicament.

Is there any views that Knight retired from TT to become the HC of the school where his legacy began, and to actually retire while coaching the Hoosiers?

I think the AP headlines when the story broke were "Knight Resigns" not "Knight Retires".

That's crazy talk...

Although, my friend at work here and I had the exact conversation yesterday. I ultimately came down on the side that Indiana will not hire him back.

How crazy would that be?

Funny thing is I would bet there would be about an even split of support verses lack of support for that move.

Bobby Knight has that "I'm tired" look these days though. I'd bet even if offered, he would decline.

It won't happen though we all know that.

The Indiana team is fairly solid; certainly the caliber that COULD feasibly make a run at a NC. I'm just saying.

The current Indiana team is very good in my opinion. Could be another Michigan type situation where an interim takes over a talented bunch and races to the title.

It could happen.

Indiana is loaded however Simpson er Sampson recruits the type of athlete that rarely stays on campus 4 years!

Win now because rarely do they stay more than a couple of years.

Wow, Pat Knight is tearing it up at Tech.......and by tearing it up, I mean tearing it down.

That was an ugly loss. Knight said something about wearing a meat necklace into a lions den. Saw the highlights, KU was tossing everything in the 5 foot wide hoop on senior nite.

At least Knight had one nice win this season.

Yeah, the bad thing is that Self was trying to get his players to just coast, but everything they threw up kept falling. It was reminiscent of that high school autistic trainer kid hitting everything he threw up.

One bourbon, one whiskey, one beer!

Once the Seahawks lost again and your career went into the toilet, the above became your theme song until recently you've emerged again as a broken down replica of what used be half a man.

Welcome back Seahawk, You can only go up because you can't get any lower.

Nope -- you've got the market cornered on being low. And thanks for proving my point about comparing your game with the autistic kid's. Great work...dumbass.

You still Christian, Dwight?

Making fun of a man for having a disability (Logan) and another man for being a recovering alcoholic (Gtown). Is that Christian behavior?

Obviously, you want to join your kids in hell. You're on your way, hypocrite.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Thankfully, at least in my interpretation of what the Bible says, nothing Dman can say will actually impact the eternity of his kids.

Irrelevant. The fact that he even did what he did is reprehensible.

I pity his children so much.

Shocking. Dwight won't respond to that dose of reality.

I wouldn't either if I were you.
