..I have really nothing against Brady's Bunch, but I'm glad they got beat..everything has been Brady this and they are the 'best team ever'-that, well thats over!! Now switching gears a little bit here, I hope my Bears pick up a good QB and get to the big game next year..hey there's hope! |

I'm trying to remember the last time the Bears had a real good QB...I think McMahon might be their best ever.
Seems like they need some RB help too, imo. |

Harbaugh was probably the last decent QB Chicago has had. The list is short for modern day....McMahon and Harbaugh probably sum it up. Going back prior to McMahon the Bears had Vince Evans......Evans had more success in L.A. and Oakland with the Raiders than with the Bears, but was a solid QB. I remember watching Bob Avelline in the mid to late 70's.........the guy did not have the physique of an NFL QB.
Erik Kramer was a one season wonder......injured for the most part the rest of his time with the Bears.
McMahon tops my list as the best Bears QB in history.
I can't describe how frustrated I am in the Bears and the fact that they don't persue a quality QB. In 2007, they should have gone after Garcia. This year, if available, they should reach out to McNabb.....while at the same time looking for that young guy to groom and step in.
I am convinced that the Bears are a QB and maybe a running back away from going deep in the playoffs. Also, a healthy defense would do wonders. |

I never thought the Pats were the best team, even if they had won. Better teams at the level of the league at the time -- '85 Bears, '89 '49ers and that one Steeler team ('75, I believe) with that ridiculously good defense come to mind.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin |

I have mixed feelings on the Bears...I think a Garcia would have done wonders for 2007. However, I don't have that good of a feeling for them in 2008 defensively. I don't know that going after a seasoned vet, if there is one, would be a good move in 2008.
To me their obvious holes on offense are QB, RB and WR in that order. I didn't get the best sense from their o-line, but I didn't see a ton of games either...maybe they are better than I think, but it seems like maybe some slight concerns there?
If I were Lovie I'd try to work on QB/RB situations and see where that gets me I think. |
