Interesting read.

Quote from that text: "I just know it's been going on for years," Vermeil said. "It's more of an integrity issue than anything else."

It is the general opinion of most coaches and players. If you played the game (like Crit40 has, apparently) then you understand it as quite normal.

Just like steroids were normal.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

You seriously don't see the similarities? I see the differences, but there are definite similarities.

Are you saying there are no similarities between apples and oranges?

speaking of apples and oranges......are we talking about deciphering signals during the game, or are we talking about video taping signals?

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

I'm saying what I've been saying from the start of this discussion gone bad. Steroids are a drug, Spygate is a matter of cheating or not. Performance enhancing -vs- moral ethics?

Apples & Oranges.

If you're talking about the Vermeil / Rams issue actually that is "none of the above". That was accusation of sending in someone to video tape their final walk through practice prior to the Super Bowl.

I understand the difference between taping what you see and seeing it but not taping it. But for Mike Shanahan, Dick Vermeil, Ron Jaworski and many others to tell you that they have personally experienced attempts to decipher signals and don't have any problem with it.

Who the hell are we to have a problem with it? It's their game!

So, never question a politician again, Omahan. Never question a coaching decision. Never question an athlete's play on the field. Never question your plumber if he floods your basement. After all -- it's their game.

That may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

And I'm talking about videotaping.

In fairness, none of those comparisons work both ways. Interpreting signals is equal ground for both parties, ignoring the manner they are being obtained.

"The dumbest thing I've ever heard" is like the 5 o'clock chime of the cathedral bell for you. (It is as normal for you as spygate is to the NFL)

Whenever your opinion isn't gospel, off you go.

The game of football is not like plumbing, thank you.

I don't understand what you just said. Those comparisons don't work both ways? Huh? How does me questioning Jaws, Vermeil, etc. work both ways.

Steroids = cheating. Videotaping = cheating.

Steroids = widely accepted. Stealing signals = widely accepted.

Steroids = everybody's doing it. Stealing signals = everybody's doing it.

Steroids = does it really have an impact? Stealing signals/videotaping = does it really have an impact.

There are similarities. It's analogous/comparable. I know egami doesn't understand analogies. But you don't either, Omahan?

vranged - you seem to thrive on seeming intelligent. If so, then why is it your way to slander others?

Do you believe that reflects intelligence?

You just said I couldn't question a football player's/coach's opinion on football because it's their game.

If that's the case, I'm saying you shouldn't question politicians, athletes, or other professions outside your area of expertise.

What's the difference, Dwight?

And now you are injecting politics into a sports message board....as Jim Rome would say, "I'm out!"

GOOD LORD, YOU ARE F'N STUPID.

I used it as a comparison/analogy. You need serious reading comprehension skills. There was no effort to talk politics there.

Enjoy your trip to the gym, Dwight. Tuck your tail between your legs and leave, and hope your wife is still paying your membership dues.

That was your most evolved and articulate post yet.

Let me ask you this champ? How do you suppose intelligence and slander are related. Is there a correllation? And do you believe that you are intelligent or are you simply going through a hard time and taking it out on everyone around you?

I must tell you that if the latter is true...you have come to the right place because you are incapable of harming anyone here it would appear. Earlier you thought you were wounding egami and he informed you he didn't take you personally. I can attest to the same.

Sports is what I seek. I don't seek Dman like another troubled individual on here does. (HELLO)

So Sports brother, it's sports.

Nothing personal. I don't know you and you don't know me. That's the way it is and will remain.

The examples you used regarding questioning a plumber, politicians and such aren't level playing fields.

Let's take the plumber, for instance, you can't go flood his basement.

I am not saying the comment he made, at face value, applies across the board, but nonetheless...in the context of stealing signals it's a valid comment.

Again, ignoring the videotaping which we seemingly agree is clearly and rightfully wrong.
