Look at it this way...that was pretty much the status quo prediction for a NYG win.

What I loved about that game was that there were no goats. There were no bad officiating calls. There were no bad coaching decisions (although, The Hoodie not kicking a 49-yd field goal could be questioned; but that's how they played it all year). There weren't excessive penalties. Overall, it was a well-played football game. It was 3 quarters of incredible defense, followed by a 4th quarter of big plays.

David Tyree's catch over the middle is one of the greatest, most important catches in Super Bowl history. Eli Manning being able to get out of several defenders' grasps -- when he's not exactly Michael Vick -- was crucial. It was the biggest play of the game.

The Hoodie, the a-hole that he is, leaves the field before time expires. Not a big deal, I guess, but very consistent with who he is as a person.

As a Husker fan, I really want Perrault to say "Joe Ganz will never win a National Championship." It would almost make Nebraska a shoo-in to win it all this season. The Manning boys OWN the Pats. I love it!!

After acknowledging that he was desperate, Dwight said "people will resort to saying things they know aren't true when they are desperate." That about sums it up!

Double post. It's a good post, but not worthy of being read twice.

I disagree with your assessment Midge. The fact of the matter is, it is extremely difficult to go undefeated in any professional sport.

NE had everything to gain and NY had nothing to lose. When you have that kind of match up for a "championship", I'll take David over Galiath every time.

Counting the Herd one hoof at a time.

Watching the Giants defense make the "Best Offense of All Time" look foolish makes me feel a little bit better about the number they did on the Bucs.
Not much, but a little.
By the way, here's a sneak peek at the cover art for the Patriots' 2007-08 Season DVD....

Paging Dr. Heimlich

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin
