Big deal, we lost to App St. who once again won their division and can compete with any school in most any conference in D1.

I'll take a loss to a D2 over my program being in the dumpster for almost decade any day...

Almost a decade is another reach.....

I just can't say "Rodriguez" and correlate it with "coach."

It doesn't match!

Rodriguez - Johnny singing a song.

Rodriguez - Alex hitting a ball.

I here Rodriguez is having some issues with his WV contract. What might be the "inside" rumors on THAT deal.

No real insider news that wasn't public that I've seen...basically one of the big name WVU donors, that co-owns some MLB team so he's a heavy swinger, is backing him though stating that WVU didn't follow through with promises...ESPN article on it is about as good as it gets with info.

Look out Michigan fans. Rodriguez fires ALL Michigan assistants.

The only campus insider I personally know is at Iowa. And he isn't like inside Ferentz's inner circle, although he was dead right on Ferentz not taking the Michigan job or meeting with UM in New York as all the websites speculated happened.

I don't know that that's a bad thing...the only person I am going to actually miss is Ron English.

I was just thinking it might help moral keeping one or two of the old coaches on board, but I "get it" that he wants his own staff. I'm certainly not suggesting that it will turn into the "Callahan Experiment" where all ties to the Michigan tradition will be turned on its head.

Yeah, I don't think anyone could run a program into the ground the way the dynamic duo could...Rodriguez was top of my list of guys I wanted to see come in if we went the "big name" route, so I am not going to complain. Until he loses to Ohio...

Nice Petrino-esque behavior, though, by Rich.
Having a grad assistant tell his bosses that he was quitting.
Trying to weasel out of the buyout.
That being said, it will be interesting to see how well he adapts his system to what they have in Ann Arbor.
Mallette is definitely NOT a prototypical quarterback for that offense.

"Perhaps the worst thing that can happen is to reach into the refrigerator and come out with something that you cannot identify at all. You literally do not know what it is. Could be meat, could be cake. Usually, at a time like that, I'll bluff. "Honey, is this good?" "Well, what is it?" "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like...meatcake!" "Well, smell it." (snort, sniff) "It has absolutely no smell whatsoever!" "It's good! Put it back! Somebody is saving it. It'll turn up in something." Thats what frightens me. That someone will consider it a challenge and use it just because it's in there." -- George Carlin

Well, it's a relative...it's perceived as weaseling by some, but if his allegations are true then I don't blame him...he has a prominent, high-powered WVU donor backing his claim. Hard to refute that.

As far as Mallett, he'll be fine in the Spread. He ran the Spread in HS. WVU runs more of a Spread Option, true, but at the end of the day it's a completely adaptable offense.

Not to mention that he had his buddy inquire of his wife as whether or not she would be interested in marrying him. See a trend here?

and she actually married him!? this does not bode well. a head coach should have no problems with self confidence.

dwight, refuting reality one post at a time.
