I must've missed his comments... Personally, I don't blame him on something this big. This may 'appear' to be done, but if my name appeared on the list like this I wouldn't mess around at all in a situation that would include possible federal endictments regardless of guilt. I'd agree if it were a drunk driving incident, public intox or something less critical. |

| I highly the doubt the feds are going to go after 80 indictments for steroid use. They might investigate further and go after the suppliers, but I can't see them trying to nail 80 end users. |

I don't either...but, nonetheless, I just wouldn't gamble in that situation. Especially if I am innocent...think about this, Crit....if any of those guys are truly innocent, do they have case now to take to court? Just a thought...that could be the other reason.
Granted, I am guessing that list is 100% accurate and 10% or less of comprehensive. |

Yeah, I can see that end of it, but if you truly are innocent, what's the harm of "personally" coming out and denying the claim. In my mind, that would just add to your credibility if you weren't hiding behind a spokeperson to defend you.
Then again, of course a lawyer is going to tell you not to do it, afterall, he gets no fee if you talk and he doesn't. |

Major league baseball is fast becoming the pro rassling of the 21st century. Athletes are all doped up, commissioner is a worthless blowhard, the games themselves are becoming complete unwatchable.
Seems to me that the only real baseball being played anymore is college ball from February through June (August counting Legion ball). Anything else is just a fake and a fraud.
Get Butthead Selig out as commissioner and get somebody with balls and brains to do something about it and you'd have a good start. Permanent exits for those who take HGH or roids would be good as well. |

I'd of agree with you 10 years ago...but the way the legal system has become, I guess I just don't blame people for protecting themselves anymore. Although, you'd think in that case you could pay the guy to help write the address... |

Seachicken -
I think the bottom line is that Selig is a talking head and he is a puppet of the owner's really. I think MLB deliberately let this happen to bring back the game and now they are trying to hang it on the players.
Lame.
I mean really...what did we learn from this? Nothing. Except we got a list of names. No closure at all. We aren't any better of than we were prior. It's just a big joke. Dog and pony show and now there is just a bunch of shit to clean up. |

Saw this column on ESPN.com which is something to think about when talking about the records set by McGwire, Bonds, Clemens, etc., during this time...

To me, this is the most important aspect of the article:
For in this basket of dirty laundry, it is impossible to separate the clean shirts from the dirty socks.
How he can follow that comment up with the next comment is beyond me:
By omitting a discussion of the record book -- and, to a lesser extent, the Hall of Fame -- Mitchell missed an important opportunity to provide context for the years and the actions he spent 21 months investigating. No recommendation regarding the numbers is the most disappointing aspect of the Mitchell report, for any degree of closure or context is impossible without an overarching explanation of the ultimate cost of the era. What Mitchell has done by way of accounting is compile years of expense receipts with no balance sheet. |

The Pettite revelation is the first of many to come. (hopefully) Many athletes have taken HGH - I have. MD's prescribe it. It aids in healing injuries. |

It increases calcium retention, and strengthens and increases the mineralization of bone. It increases muscle mass through the creation of new muscle cells (i.e. hyperplasia, which differs from hypertrophy) It promotes lipolysis, which results in the reduction of adipose tissue (body fat). It increases protein synthesis and stimulates the growth of all internal organs excluding the brain. It plays a role in fuel homeostasis. It reduces liver uptake of glucose, an effect that opposes that of insulin. It promotes liver gluconeogenesis. It contributes to the maintenance and function of pancreatic islets. It stimulates the immune system.

Many do not realize what HGH can do. Be honest Webster, did you know all or even a cross section of what it represents to patients accross america? I don't expect an honest response, you act as if you knew all the health facts coming in. Perception in many is that it just helps weight lifters blow up. |

I mean that is what popular perception is.
Most don't understand the facts about HGH.
Cut 'n dry.
You can turn ugly and make broad and uneducated statements, it doesn't change the fact that soceity in general have no idea what steriods are.
Places like Iowa offer Agriculture Schools - not Anabolic Steriod Schools.
