Roger Federer reached his seventh straight Wimbledon final Friday by beating Tommy Haas of Germany 7-6 (3), 7-5, 6-3. Federer won five consecutive titles at the All England Club before losing to Rafael Nadal in last year's final. At this year's tournament, the second-seeded Swiss is trying to win his record 15th Grand Slam title. Federer played excellent tennis Friday, holding serve easily and breaking Haas late in the second and third sets.

Manny apologizes ahead of return to Dodgers
Manny Ramirez's much-anticipated return to Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup won't come at home, but close enough to it that his reception might not be entirely negative. The dreadlocked slugger returns after serving a 50-game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy Friday night in the opener of a three-game road series against the San Diego Padres.

Jackson says he'll return to coach Lakers
Phil Jackson is returning to coach the Los Angeles Lakers next season. Jackson announced his decision Friday on the team's Web site. He said he consulted the team doctor about his health before deciding. The Hall of Fame coach turns 64 in September. Jackson led the Lakers to their 15th NBA championship and his record 10th title in June. He says he's confident he can handle another long season. "All things point to go!" he says.
